ADDI: On friday the swim team held their senior night at a tri-meet against Hagerstown and Ross. The girls overcame both teams taking the top spot at the meet while the boys overcame Hagerstown but fell to ross.

On saturday girls basketball took on Eaton overcoming them 51- 44 Mckenna Weekley led in points with 19, Layni Short following close behind with twelve and Sadie vangorden right up there with them after dropping 5 3-pointers

Also on Saturday, The wrestling team faced off against Turpin and Walnut Hills in a Tri-meet at Turpin High School, coming away with a team win against Turpin and a close one against Walnut Hills, only losing by 5 points due to forfeits. Dalton Rand, Colton Back, Colton Smith, Thomas Harper, Will Tanner, Matias Militzer, and Henry Longcamp all had wins for the team. Wrestlers will be back in action this weekend as Varsity attends the Eaton Invitational Tournament and JV heads to Ross.

and we can also see girls basketball back in action tonight right here at home against edgewood. the game will begin at 730 and the theme is groufit. so come out and support the girls if youre looking for something to do.

TESSA: First we would like to call all artists!
KATE: The Reily Township Good Neighbor Group is looking for a logo design.Any THS student who lives in Reily Township is eligible to create and submit a design idea.
TESSA: If you are interested please email Mrs. Claire or pop into room 603 for more information. The logo submission deadline is early March, so act fast!
KATE: Next up is a quick reminder of the Diversity Club meeting after school today in Room 400.

  • Wrestling competed at the Sycamore Invitational on Saturday
    • Fisher Guenther took 3rd place in the 113 weight class
    • Colton Smith took 6th place in the 144 pound weight class
    • Will Tanner placed 4th in the 157 pound weight class
    • Mathias Militzer placed 6th in the 175 pound weight class
  • Last night, the wrestling team completed in a tri-meet with Princeton and Northwest at Northwest High School
  • Several highlights from the meet, including Kyler Brown’s first season win, winning with a pin against Princeton! Other standout matches included wins from Will Tanner and Mathias Militzer.
  • The wrestling team is back in action tonight vs. Franklin County High School.

Over the weekend the swim team attended the Southwest swim classic. Some highlights from that include outstanding performances from Abbie Curry, Anna Gregg, Kaylyn Machecko, Morgan Sly and Caroline Mignery who all qualified in the finals for their respective relays. Congrats ladies. On the boys side there were multiple competitors who raced theri season bests including all three of their relay teams.

MARLEY: The academic challenge team swept Harrison last night in three matches.
GRACIE: The varsity team won by scores of 63-26 and 74-46 and was led by Julian Danoff.
MARLEY: And the JV team man an exciting comeback, winning 64-53 featuring a strong performance by Olive Rice in the final quarter.
GRACIE: Robotics club will be meeting today in room 412 from 3-4
MARLEY: Mock trial is also meeting tonight from 5:30-7:30 in room 315
GRACIE: Finally, Talawanda Tribune will meet from 7:30-8:15 in room 315

ADDI: I hope everybody had a wonderful break and although we got time off school our athletes did not take a break from their sports. We had lots going on over break and although I can’t cover it all I can give you somewhat of a recap so lets get into it.

Starting with Wrestling at Valley View this past Saturday: Fisher Geunther placed 3rd, Josh Haynes placed 5th, Alex Farrel placed 6th good work guys

Saturday was quite an exciting day because Boys Basketball took on Valley View at home defeating them 60 to 49

Girls basketball had multiple games over the break and their record is currently sitting at 6-5 and climbing

Finally our swimmers had quite the packed break but were gonna focus on last week on thursday the girls overcame wayne but falling to butler while the boys took the win over both teams. On friday the girls beat both ross and hamilton, the boys beating hamilton but falling to ross. Finally on Saturday the boys finished 3rd of 17 teams and the girls finished 5th of 17 teams. COngratulations ot Abbie Curry who set a meet record in the 50 free.

No sports for today so that’s all ive got for you today and No content as we are getting back into the swing of things so right back over to the desk it is.

All right…so, last night the Girls Basketball team traveled to Northwest to face the Knights and came home with a win. Final score 49 to 40. Way to go, girls.

No other scores to report–but, coming up, we have the Boys Basketball at Northwest on Friday, the swim competing at the Miami Rec center against Little Miami and Brookville, and the Wrestling team competing at the Edgewood Invitational tournament on Friday and Saturday.
