Now for Zander with Moore Sports
Girls Soccer dropped their Kick for a Cure match to Harrison 3-1 and fall to 1-2-1 in SWOC play. The girls next game will be a Saturday Matinee at Eaton.

Girls Volleyball defeated Oak Hills in 4 sets last night improving their record to 12-4 overall and will next play on Tuesday for a SWOC match against Mt. Healthy.

Girls Golf placed 3rd in the SWOC Tournament yesterday, Keylee Goerss won Girls Golf Player of the Year, while Kylee Fears and Kayla Bennett finished second team all conference. Congrats to the Lady Brave on their SWOC finishes and they will have one more match before Sectionals.

Also having their SWOC Tournament was Boys Golf who finished in Second behind Harrison, Conner Schulte and Ty Huber placed in the top 5 shooting an 82 and 84. Ty Huber, Aidan Bruder, and Conner Schulte all finished first team all conference, while Jacob Berger won the Sportsmanship Award. The boys will head to Monroe on Saturday for one final match before Sectionals.

Field Hockey took home a big win on Senior Night vs Walnut Hills by a score of 5-1, the Lady Brave’s next match will be here at home playing host to Ursaline .

Boys Golf demolished Monroe yesterday  by 43 strokes, the score being 168-211, the boys move their overall record to 25-7 and will head to Miami Whitewater for the SWOC Championship today.

Girls Golf also won last night defeating Princeton 242-247, Keylee Goerss was the medalist for the Lady Brave shooting a 42, the Lady Brave will be playing in their SWOC Championship at Miami Whitewater later today.

Boys Soccer lost to Harrison 3-0 last night and will wait a week before their next match  at Winton Woods.

One big home game tonight as Girls Soccer hosts Kick for the Cure night against the Harrison Wildcats, make sure to show up or watch the game on Channel 85 at 7pm. A few road games starting off with Volleyball as they take on Oak Hills at 6pm, Girls Tennis heads to Colerain for a match at 4, and Both Golf teams have their SWOC Tournaments later tonight, good luck to them.

Now for Zander Moore with Moore Sports

The football team tamed the Wildcats on Friday night taking their first win of the season and start out SWOC play 1-0. The Brave capitalized on the ground game versus Harrison as Da’Quawn Roberson took 18 rushing carries for 139 yards and 3 touchdowns. This performance from Da’Quawn put him up for Tri-State Football Player of the Week, you can place your vote at TriStateFootball.com. Sealing the game for the Brave was Meech Morris-Williams who grabbed his 2nd career interception, the team will host Ross this Friday for their second SWOC March and it will be a Camo out.

Cross Country was at Miami on Saturday for the Miami RedHawk Rumble, the Girls placed 4th, led by Lucia Rodbro who ran a 18:55. The boys placed 3rd with two top 10 finishes, Max Bixler who finished 3rd with a 16:49 and Bryson Fears who placed 8th with a 17:10

Two home games today starting off with Field Hockey who is hosting Walnut Hills for their Senior Night, the game starts at 6 and Boys Golf hosts Monroe at 4:30. On the road Volleyball heads to Franklin Country for a non-conference match at 7pm, Boys Soccer heads to Harrison for their 6th SWOC match of the season also at 7, while heading to Princeton are the Girls Golf and Girls Tennis teams, the matches starting at 4 and 4:30.

.JVB beat Harrison yesterday to improve to 12-0 JVA fell in 3 sets to the wildcats and varsity fell in 4 sets they will travel to Franklin county Monday

The boys soccer team traveled to ross last night Jv and varsity both fell to the rams last night they are currently second in SWOC and Logan Kent still leads butler county in goals ➠

The boys Jv golf team defeated Harrison last night in a play format 4-3
And the girls Field hockey team fell against oakwood last night

Games this weekend Cross country has a meet this weekend at Miami

And The Football team heads down to Harrison tonight to try and get there first win of the season

Boys golf placed 2nd in their SWOC match finishing ahead of Ross and Edgewood, as the team shot 156, falling short of first place by just 6 strokes. The boys will have a few days off before their next match on Sunday.

Girls tennis lost to Fairfield 4-1 and fall to 6-12 on the season, the team will play their third straight day as they head to Madison for a 4 o’clock match

A couple of our athletes are up for Cincinnati Enquirer athletes of the week, make sure to vote Lucia Rodbro as girls cross country runner of the week, and Logan Kent as boys soccer player of the week. Logan currently is in the lead and I think we would all like to keep it that way.

Two home games today starting off with a 6:30 game as the Field Hockey team will take on Oakwood, then at 7 Volleyball hosts Harrison for a critical match on Dig for a Cure night, the Wildcats sit one game ahead of the Brave for first place in the SWOC. Make sure to show out and support the girls. On the road for another important match is the Boys Soccer team who is facing off against Ross who sits one game ahead in the SWOC, the boys look to hand the Rams their first loss in SWOC play tonight at 7. Also on the road is girls golf who heads to Miami Whitewater to take on Taylor for a match at 4:30.

Volleyball comeback against Ross and took them out in 5 sets last night to win their 8th game in a row, the girls improve to 4-1 in the SWOC and 10-3 overall. The team will be hosting Harrison Thursday for their Volley for the Cure night.

Staying on the court, Girls Tennis lost to Harrison 4-1 and drop to 1-3 in the SWOC, the girls get a chance to bounce back tonight when they head to Fairfield.

Moving to the soccer field, the Boys lost to CHCA by a score of 6-3, Logan Kent had 2 of the 3 goals, Ian Greene with the other. The boys head to Ross for a SWOC match tonight at 7.

Girls soccer lost to Ross 3-0 dropping to 1-2-1 in conference play, Ross improves to 4-0 and they lead the SWOC.

Girls Golf grabbed a Victory over Ross outshooting them by 19, the final being 224-243. Keylee Goerss medaled once again shooting a team low 42, Kayla Bennet and Kylee Fears with 59’s, and Emily Watt a 64. The Lady Brave will head to Taylor for a match at 4:30.

No home games for today but the Volleyball team won a wild match against Ross last night, Shifty and Schutte had the call, here’s the winning point.

Girls Golf finished 2nd in a tri-match against Colerain and Middletown outshooting Colerain by 18 strokes, and getting beaten by Middletown by 20. Keylee Goerss was the medalist for The Lady Brave shooting a 43, the ladies are right back in action tonight as the head to Ross.

Also on the green yesterday were the boys who crushed Monroe outshooting them by 32 in a 169-201 victory. The boys will head back to Miami Whitewater on Wednesday.

Moving to the courts, Volleyball swept Taylor for their 7th straight win and the team has won 17 straight sets. The girls look to continue their impressive run at home tonight vs Ross.

Three home games today starting off with girls tennis who hosts Harrison at 4:15, Volleyball looks to stay on their hot streak vs Ross at 7, and Girls Soccer is also hosting Ross, that game at 7pm. A Couple games on the road as Boys Soccer heads to CHCA for a non-conference match at 7 and Girls Golf heads to Grand Oaks to take on Ross.

I thought homecoming was a really good time, so Dean went and asked what other students thought about the dance.

After a fierce competition during spirit week, the Seniors have been crowned the class champions of Talawanda High School. The second place class, surprising everyone, was the Freshman, followed by the Sophomores, and in last place was the Juniors. The Junior class better step up next year if they hope to hold off a challenge from this Freshman class. The Penny War money raised last week will be going to help fund our Best Buddies program at THS, thanks to all who donated, and all those that participated throughout the week.

Now for Zander Moore with Moore Sports

The football team dropped a close one to Dayton Carroll on Friday Night 44-37, Cale Leitch had 3 total touchdowns in the loss, also getting into the end zone were Da’Quawn Roberson, Will Riede, Hayden Marcum, and Jackson Ritchie. The team forced two turnovers in the game both being interceptions by Jake Francis, the first of his career, and Ryan Wright. The boys are on the road Friday for their first SWOC match of the year against Harrison, the theme being a Frat Out.

On Saturday Cross Country traveled to the Eaton Invitational, Boys Varsity placed 4th out of 14 schools with the only top-10 finish coming from Max Bixler who placed 3rd with a 5K time of 17:08. Girls Varsity placed 3rd out of 13 schools being carried by a first place finish from Lucia Rodbro who ran a 19:19, finishing 12 seconds faster than the next runner. Clara Cradduck was the only other girl to place top-10 as she finished 8th.

Only one home game on this Monday, Girls Golf is hosting Middletown and Colerain at the Oxford Country Club, the match beginning at 4:30. On the road volleyball will battle Taylor at 6:30, Boys Golf heads to Monroe for a match at 4:30, and Tennis travels to Madison for a game at 4.

Class war update – The Freshmen, in another overpowering performance, had 100 students dress up yesterday, giving them enough points to TIE on the seniors. The seniors and freshman are TIED with 13 points heading into class color day.  In third place behind the Seniors and Freshmen, it’s the Sophomores with 9 points.  The juniors continue to struggle, placing last again and rounding out the classes with 5 points. The winner will be decided at the pep rally, after the final dress up day and the penny war points have been awarded. It might come down to the relay folks.

There are Penny War jars at lunch for each class.  Pennies are positive points, and all other money is negative.  The class with the highest point total at the end of the week will be declared the winner and get points towards the Class War.  Not a lot to report, PLEASE make sure you bring in your spare change and participate for charity!

The only other action this weekend is Cross Country who will head to the Eaton Invitational on Saturday.

Class war update – The Freshmen, in a DOMINANT showing, had 153 students dress up yesterday, giving them enough points to close the gap on the seniors and putting them at 9 total points.  The seniors, who placed 3rd yesterday, maintain a slim 1 point lead during class wars with 10 points.  In third place behind the Seniors and Freshmen, it’s the Sophomores with 7 points.  Continuing their losing streak, it’s the Juniors with 4 points. Friday is Class Color day with Seniors in Black, Juniors in White, Sophomores in Blue, and Freshmen in Red.

There are Penny War jars at lunch for each class.  Pennies are positive points, and all other money is negative.  The class with the highest point total at the end of the week will be declared the winner and get points towards the Class War.  Not a lot to report, PLEASE make sure you bring in your spare change and participate for charity!

Volleyball captured their fourth straight sweep and 6th straight win taking down Northwest, that’s the teams 8th win overall and 3rd in SWOC play. The ladies will have the weekend off before facing Taylor on Monday.

No home games for today but on the road Boys Golf will head to the Miami Whitewater Golf Club for a SWOC match beginning at 4:30.
