Diversity Club is hosting a Halloween Party on Monday in room 200! New members are always welcome!

Volleyball’s season came to a close last night in a three set defeat to Ursuline Academy, the girls went the farthest in the postseason out of all the SWOC teams but just fell short, congrats on a great season.

Football dropped their final game of the season to Northwest on Friday by a score of 53-49, 7 total touchdowns from the boys, Cale Leitch threw for 2 of them to Hayden Marcum and rushed for one more for 3 total, Quawn Roberson rushed for 111 yards and a TD, DJ Morris-Williams had 2 on the ground, and Logan Howard returned an 86 yard kick return to the house. The team finishes the year 1-9, Cale Leitch was the passing leader hitting 1000 yards and 10 TDs, Quawn Roberson led the team with 765 rushing yards, and Hayden Marcum had 647 receiving yards with 8 TDs.

Volleyball swept Lakota East on the road Saturday to advance to the third round of the state tournament for the first time as a D-1 school. The girls will face Ursuline Academy tomorrow.

Cross Country was at the Southwest District Championship over the weekend, the girls finished 4th out of 15 schools led by Lucia Rodbro who placed 3rd overall with a time of 18:46, the girls will head to Troy for Regionals. The boys team finished 7th and did not qualify for regionals, but max Bixler did individually as he placed 18th out of 108 runners with a time of 16:56.

Girls Soccer All Conference teams came out last night, making first team All Conference for the Lady Brave were Jillian Wynn and Olivia Andrews, second team was McKenzie Hanson, Rylyn Jackson, and Zada Young, Lyla Spurlock was an honorable mention, and Addi Thacker received Talawanda’s sportsmanship award. Congratulations to these athletes.

Football is on the road tonight as they head to Northwest for their last regular season game of the year, the theme is a costume out as the boys look to close out the 2022 campaign with a W.

Second round of the postseason is tomorrow for Volleyball as they take on Lakota East on the road for a 12:30 match, good luck to the ladies.

We are kind of in a dead period for sports as we wait for this weekends games but Boys Soccer and Volleyball All-Conference Teams have been released.

Making first team all conference for boys soccer was Logan Kent, making second team all conference were Caleb Bogseth and J.D. Riendeau, Tyler Hazelwood received honorable mention, and Ben Zazycki got Talawanda’s sportsmanship award.

For Volleyball, making first team all conference was Junior Myah Keene, receiving second team honors were Leah Noga and Elise Olenick, Abby Noga received honorable mention, and Hallie Schutte was the recipient of Talawanda’s sportsmanship award.

Congratulations to all of our athletes who made All Conference.

Girls Soccer fell to Western Brown in overtime by a score of 4-3, the girls season comes to a close due to this loss and they end the season with a record of 6-9-1.

Volleyball advanced to the second round for the first time in 6 years last night when they swept Colerain. Their next game will be Saturday at Lakota East for a 12:30 match.

Would you like to help with the blanket collection project for NHS? Today in Art Club we will be decorating the cardboard boxes that will be placed around the school for donations. Even if you are not in Art Club you can stay after school to help with this project. We meet today in room 603 from 2:50-3:45 pm
Recycling services cost less money than garbage services. In turn having more money for other school funding – Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources how hard is it to recycle? Just by taking that small bit of extra effort, more school money can go into sports and music equipment.

If you are interested in competing for the swim & dive team this winter, please plan to attend the preseason meeting tonight.  It will be at 7 PM in the high school cafeteria.  At the meeting practice and meet schedules will be distributed and the expectations that need to be met in order to be a part of the team will be discussed.  You’ll also be able to meet all of the coaches for the team as well.  If you cannot make the meeting please see Coach Pasquale in Room 418.

If you like Jeopardy, buzzers, and can tolerate Mr. Schmid’s humor, academic team might be for you.  The first meeting is today from 3:00-4 pm in Mr. Schmid’s room

Boys Soccer lost to Middletown 2-0 yesterday to end their season, the boys finished with an overall record of 5-12. Logan Kent finished 2nd in the SWOC in goals with 19, and 2nd in points with 41. Ben Zazycki was the conference leader in saves with 128. Congrats to the boys on their season.

Field Hockey lost in the first round to Mount Notre Dame to conclude their season, congrats to the girls on their year.

A couple of postseason games on tonights slate, at home Girls Soccer is hosting Western Brown at 7pm, and heading to a neutral site at Lakota East, Volleyball will battle Colerain at 5:30. Good luck to all the athletes who look to keep their seasons alive.

According to thegreenteam.org, More than 1/3 of all paper fiber used to make paper comes from recycled paper, that means that if everyone in this school recycled 20 sheets of paper by the end of the year, almost 700 new sheets could be created… And that’s a low estimate!

The soccer teams lost to Ross on Thursday to close out the regular season, the postseason matches are now set, the girls play at Home tomorrow vs Western Brown at 7 while the boys are on the road TONIGHT at Middleton for a 7 o’clock match.

Playing winner on Thursday was Volleyball who took out Ross in a back and fourth match, beating them in 5 sets with every set being decided by 4 or less points. The girls finish the regular season with an 8-2 SWOC record, good enough for 2nd place, and will start off postseason play tomorrow against Colerain.

Football got shutout by Mt. Healthy Friday night and fall to 1-3 in conference play and have one more regular season game this Friday at Northwest.

Moving on to Saturday at the SWOC Cross Country Championships, both the Girls and the Boys won the Championship, leading the way for the boys was a second place finish by Josh Saul who ran an 18:32 and on the girls side Lily Franks also placed second with a time of 23:35. Winning SWOC runner of the year was Talawanda’s own Lucia Rodbro, Congrats to all the runners on a great season.

No home games today but kicking off postseason play is boys soccer who heads to Middletown tonight for a 7 o’clock game.

Last night Field Hockeys match at Oakwood got called due to weather.

One home game today, Boys Soccer hosts Ross at 7pm for their final match before facing Middletown in the postseason. On the road Both Volleyball Girls Soccer head to Ross for their final games of the regular season, both at 7pm. And on Friday the football team heads to Mt. Healthy for a game at 7, it is a construction out.
