Key Club will be hosting a bake sale during the boys freshman, Jv, and Varsity games TODAY January 27th! Sales will be going towards the Amy Wengler community service scholarship. Lucia Rodbro has some more information about the sale.

There will be a diversity club meeting after school until 4 in room 221.

Only one home game tonight, Boys basketball hosts Mt. Healthy in a conference match at 7:30, the game will be streamed live, here on Channel 85.

On the road, Wrestling will head to Eaton for the Eaton Invite, that will span tonight and tomorrow morning.

Moving to Saturday, Girls basketball looks to stay undefeated when they take on Franklin County at 6pm.

And earlier in the day, the swim & dive teams will take to the water at the SWOC championship, the girls have won 9 of the 10 SWOC titles awarded and the boys have won all 10.  Action begins at 9:15 AM at Miami’s Rec Center.  Come out and support your swimmers and divers as they look to continue their incredible run.

There was only one game Tuesday, Boys Basketball lost a close one to Edgewood 52-49 and drop to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in the SWOC, they’ll be at home taking on Mt. Healthy Friday.

Moving to last night, Girls basketball walked by Northwest 46-7 to clinch back to back SWOC titles. The girls are AP ranked 10th in the state and they’ll go on the road to play Franklin County Saturday night.

Girls basketball dominated once again this time beating Eaton on senior night, 64-27. Kylee Fears led the team with her 15th double double of the season, she recorded 23 points and a season high 26 rebounds. The girls stay a perfect 16-0 on the season and will play the also perfect, 0-16, Northwest Knights on Wednesday.

Only one game today, Boys Basketball is looking for their 10th win of the season as they head to Edgewood tonight, tip-off at 7:30.

As scheduling gets started, lots of people are worried about what their days will look like in the future.  What will my classes be?  Do I take a study hall?  Do I take CCP classes?  Julio Fuentes turned in this report on what a typical day in the life of non-CCP student at Talawanda looks like.

Lots of action over the weekend, lets kick things off on Friday where the swim & dive teams hosted Brookville and Hagerstown, Indiana for a tri-meet.  Both the girls and boys teams came away with sweeps when all of the action had concluded.  Leading the way for the Brave were Anna Gregg, Kaylyn Macechko, Abbie Curry, Anna Abbitt, Maren Patterson, Noah Femiani, Julio Fuentes, and Adam Hunt, all of whom picked up at least one individual event win.

 

Later on that night, Boys Basketball took on Harrison for a conference match, the boys won 59-47 on the back of Isaiah Meade-Moss who had a season high 23 points and a buzzer beating triple at half which really set the tone for the second half. The boys move to 9-5 overall and sit one game back of Ross for first in the SWOC.

 

Indoor Track was had a successful meet at Mount Saint Joseph, Logan Howard and Lucia Rodbro headlined setting new school records, while Henry Hoblitzell won the pole vault and ranks 6th in the state.

 

Moving to Saturday, Girls Basketball led by Taylor Farris’ 25 points defeated Harrison 61-54, Kylee Fears also put up a 16 point double-double in the win, and the girls have all but secured the SWOC title for a second straight year.

 

Only one home game tonight and its girls basketball senior night, they’ll be taking on Eaton at 7:30 here at the gym, the game will be streamed live, here on Channel 85 if you can’t make it.

Both Bowling teams beat Mt. Healthy yesterday, the boys, led by Derek Hacker’s 400 pins won 2207-1982, while Josephine Thompson’s team high 338 was enough to edge out the Owls 1620-1601.

A couple home games tonight, Boys basketball takes on SWOC rival Harrison at 7:30, that will be streamed live here on Channel 85, and there will be a swim meet at the Rec as the Brave take on Brookville and Hagerstown, that will be at 6.

Girls basketball took their 14th straight win last night, this time against Mt. Healthy, 53-30 the Final, Kylee Fears had a team high 19 points and 16 rebounds in the victory, and Congrats to Coach Huismann on win number 750 as a head coach

Boys basketball lost to Ross Friday Night 51-39, the boys struggled only shooting 27 percent from the field, they drop to 8-4 on the year and 3-2 in the SWOC

Staying on the court, Girls Basketball continued their winning ways taking out East Central in a Saturday Matinee, the Brave were led by Kylee Fears who scored 26, and Taylor Farris who scored 24. The girls stay undefeated at 13-0 and keep climbing the state rankings.

This weekend the wrestling team competed in the Sycamore invitational.  Caleb Dilhoff and Will Tanner placed 6th  at 175 and 157.  Isaac Jones placed 4th at 132.  Sammy Dillon placed 3rd at 150 and Gavin Boner placed first at 113.  The team is off from competition this week but will be back in action next weekend.

This past weekend the swim & dive teams took part in the Southwest Ohio High School Classic. This is the largest meet in the country with over 2400 kids and over 100 schools participating and the girls team finished in 19th place, while the boys team finished in 39th.  The girls were led by the quartet of Anna Gregg, Abbie Curry, Kaylyn Macechko, and Maren Patterson.  These 4 combined three times to finish 14th in the 400 Medley Relay, 11th in the 200 Free Relay, and 15th in the 200 Medley Relay.  Individually Maren finished 10th in the 50 Free, 11th in the 100 Free, and 13th in the 100 Back.  The boys were led by Julio Fuentes who placed 16th in the 1 Meter Diving event.  The swim & dive teams will be back in the water this Friday for their final home meet of the season, and before the meet, Seniors will be honored.

Girls Basketball steamrolled past Edgewood 74-47 last night, Myah Keene led the team with a career high 22 points, Kylee Fears was right behind her with a 17 point double-double in the girls 12th straight win to start the year.

Academic Challenge won all their matches against Mt. Healthy yesterday.  Talawanda is leading the SWOC and is 4 and 0 on the season.  Their next match is at home on January 25th.

Bowling will take on Northwest at Oxford Lanes at 4 and Wrestling will take on Northwest before tomorrows ‘In School Dual’ vs Middletown
