Good Morning, Talawanda! Today is Wednesday November 14th, 2018

Everyone is invited to the band’s annual chili supper tonight!  Dinner is at 6pm followed by performances by the Talawanda Steel Band, Miami University Steel Band Too, and the Talawanda Jazz Band.  The event takes place in the cafeteria.  Chili is $5 per person with a family cap of $15.  The concert starts at 7pm and is free to attend.

Attention all YITs.  We will NOT be meeting today.  Instead, please plan to meet Monday after school to help with tulip planning.  Thank you!

And now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Bowling HYPE!

Birthdays for today: Jared Bretz turns 18, Joshua Curry turns 16, Grant Monson turns 16, and Owen Fankhauser turns 18.

And now for What’s The T and Patty G with sports.

Well today is a big day for Talawanda athletics as three senior athletes will sign to continue their athletic careers in college. Sam Robinson will play soccer at the University of Cincinnati, Sean Mondello will dive at Miami, and Jenna Jarvis will play soccer at Kings University. I caught up with some of the signees this morning.

And we couldn’t find Jenna today, who takes CCP classes, but she will be at the signing this afternoon which is right after school at 1:30pm in the Media Center. All are invited to attend as the three athletes sign to officially commit to their respective colleges —  So congratulations to these 3 athletes.

We will resume the student of the day tomorrow. That’s our broadcast on this Tuesday.  I’m Patrick Geshan.  Thank you so much for watching — and have a great day.

Good Morning, Talawanda! Today is Tuesday November 13th, 2018

Butler Tech will be visiting today to present on their campuses and the programs they have to offer during tutorial time. All sophomores will be called down to the PAC at the start of tutorial.

Best Buddies members:  we will have our November meeting today right after school.  We will have snacks and fun turkey themed games.

And now for some life changing, very DEEP thoughts

Birthdays for today: Hannah Lightfield turns 17

And now for What’s The T and Patty G with sports.

Well to start things off today, we’ll chat with Maddy Iden about last weekend’s state championship race.

So thank you Maddy for talking to us multiple times, and congratulations.   To the person who walked into that interview purposely, congratulations for making yourself look like a fool in front of the entire school.

It is November and with this month comes Movember — the worldwide initiative to raise awareness for men’s health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention. To support this cause, men across the country start growing facial hair to call attention to men’s health issues. Many teachers in our building are participating in Movember including Mr. Z, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Silberstein, Mr. Hunsche, Mr. York, and Mr. Aerni. If you see them today, give them a quick thanks for supporting such an important cause, and all of them will accept donations if you wish to give.

And that’s our broadcast on this Tuesday.  I’m Patrick Geshan.  Thank you so much for watching — and have a great day.

Congratulations to Maddy Iden for her race at the state Cross Country meet this past Saturday.  She ran in the top 100 girls for the entire state and should be very proud of her accomplishments this season.  The course was a muddy mess, but the support of her friends and family helped Maddy make the most of her last race this season. We tried to interview Maddy this morning but had some technical difficulties so we’ll try to catch up with her tomorrow.

The hockey team went 0-3 this weekend. They started off with a 9-2 loss to Moeller on the road, fell 5-0 to Strongsville at Goggin Saturday, and lost to Centreville by a score of 7-4 yesterday.
