Good Morning, Talawanda! Today is Monday November 12th, 2018

Butler Tech will be visiting on Tuesday to present on their campuses and the programs they have to offer during tutorial time. All sophomores will be called down to the PAC at the start of tutorial.

And now for a review on last week’s assembly

Best Buddies members:  we will have our November meeting on Tuesday, November 13 right after school.  We will have snacks and fun turkey themed games.

And now for Patty G with sports.

Congratulations to Maddy Iden for her race at the state Cross Country meet this past Saturday.  She ran in the top 100 girls for the entire state and should be very proud of her accomplishments this season.  The course was a muddy mess, but the support of her friends and family helped Maddy make the most of her last race this season. We tried to interview Maddy this morning but had some technical difficulties so we’ll try to catch up with her tomorrow.

The hockey team went 0-3 this weekend. They started off with a 9-2 loss to Moeller on the road, fell 5-0 to Strongsville at Goggin Saturday, and lost to Centreville by a score of 7-4 yesterday.

It is November and with this month comes Movember — the worldwide initiative to raise awareness for men’s health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention. To support this cause, men across the country start growing facial hair to call attention to men’s health issues. Many teachers in our building are participating in Movember including Mr. Z, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Silberstein, Mr. Hunsche, Mr. York, and Mr. Aerni. If you see them today, give them a quick thanks for supporting such an important cause, and all of them will accept donations if you wish to give.

And that’s our broadcast on this Monday.  I’m Patrick Geshan.  Thank you so much for watching — and have a great day.
