The boys basketball team fell to Mt. Healthy by a score of 54-43 on Saturday night. The Brave falls to 0-6 on the year, and will play next tomorrow at home against Little Miami — a game that will be live-streamed on the Brave TV YouTube tomorrow night.

The girls also begin the season 0-6, and their next game is tonight at Valley View. They will also play at home against Harrison on Wednesday, a game that will be broadcast live on ICRCtv.com.

The hockey team went 2-2 over the weekend with a 3rd place finish in their tournament at Kent State. Talawanda started the weekend off with a 7-2 win over Olentangy Berlin Friday night, but lost two games Saturday with a 4-3 Overtime loss to Kentston and a 6-3 loss to Hudson. The Braves responded with a 5-0 win though yesterday over Watterson.

Friday night the Brave swim and dive teams hosted Butler and Wilmington in a tri-meet at Miami’s Rec Center. The girls defeated Butler by a score of 141-11 and the boys defeated Butler by a score of 132-114. Both teams also defeated Wilmington with the girls posting a 141-49 victory and the boys posting a 132-54 victory. The girls were led by Mercy Patterson, who came away with wins in both the 50 Free and 100 Free, and Kenna Mondello, who came away with wins in both the 100 Fly and 100 Back. On the boys side, Ben Crowder won both the 200 free and 100 free. Also a special congratulations to Hannah  Lippincott, Morgan Stahr, Casey Johnston, and Max Baker for completing their first 500 Frees. The Brave will next take to the pool on Saturday when they compete in Butler Invite, which will be held on the campus of Wright State University.

The Wrestling team picked up some wins in their meet at Harrison this weekend, with a special congratulations to Sean Mondello, who picked up his 100th varsity win this weekend. He ended with 101 career wins, so congratulations Sean!

And the cheerleading team earned first place in their competition at Columbus this weekend, so congratulations to them!

And finally a special thanks to everyone who wore ugly sweaters today! I can’t even explain mine.

So that does it for us here on Season 11 of Channel 85. On behalf of everyone behind me and behind the scenes, we thank you all for watching this semester, and will see you after the break. Until then, have a happy and safe Holiday Season — and we’ll see you in a few weeks. We’ll leave you today with our highly coveted First Semester bloopers video, and a heads up that sometimes High Schoolers don’t always think before they speak, but, we’re still working on it. Have a great Holiday season Talawanda, best of luck on your exams, and enjoy!

And we wish the cheerleading team good luck, as they are off to Columbus tomorrow for a competition at 8:30 am.

FinaIly today , I would like a student body presidential decree — that on Monday students, teachers, and administrators all wear ugly sweaters to celebrate the holidays, as we count down to break. So, get those sweaters out and we’ll have a school-wide ugly sweater party on Monday.

Until then, that’s our broadcast on this Friday .  I’m Patrick Geshan.  Thank you so much for watching — and have a great weekend!
