Good morning, Talawanda! Today is Tuesday September 25th, 2018

Seniors who want to help with PRIDE Day, this is a reminder that applications are due today in the counseling office.

Attention Sophomores – PRIDE Day is coming up next week on Thursday for students A through J and Friday for students K through Z.  This all-day, annual event is an important part of becoming a respectful and responsible Talawanda student.  This can be a life-changing event, so be prepared with an open mind.  If you have any questions you can see Mrs. Peter in the Guidance office or Mr. Z in room 301.

Miami, UC, Wright State, Wilmington, and Cincinnati State will be in the PAC today at 5:30 pm for a college admissions panel which all students, grades 9-12, and their families are encouraged to attend.

Talawanda is offering students a free practice ACT test at THS.  We have partnered with TorchPrep, an innovative test training program that helps students improve their ACT scores.  The test will be given at THS on Saturday, October 6th at 10 am.  TorchPrep will meet with students on October 18th during the school day to go over results.  Students must be registered online by October 3rd.

For seniors who want to improve your ACT score, Friday is the deadline to register for the October ACT.

Anyone interested in joining the club Girls Who Code, our first meeting will be this Wednesday, September 26th, right after school in room 220.  See Miss Klovekorn in 220 or Mrs. Caraballo in 218 with any questions.

Attention writers, artists, and photographers:  Setting Stone is looking for your original works!  Please send your poems, paintings, stories, photographs, wood cuts, drawings, or other original creative works to settingstone@talawanda.org, and check out our website at settingstone.org!

This week is Ally Week!  The THS Diversity Club invites all allies to show their support and attend Diversity’s meeting today after school until 3:20 in room 312 to see what it means to be a good ally, and how to help under-represented communities at THS.

Birthdays for today:  Samuel L. Gibson turns 18, and Ethan Gray turns 15. Also happy BELATED birthday to Mrs. Stivers.

And now for world news and a Patty G rip-off with sports.

Are you ever hungry after school?  I know I am.  The field hockey team has come to your rescue.  On Thursday, after school, they will be selling slices of LaRosa’s cheese pizza for $2.00 a slice.  Bring exact money, two 1 dollar bills to either the doors by the main office, or by the cafeteria to get your $2.00 slice.  They look forward to seeing you on Thursday after school and your hunger needs will finally be met!

Home games for today:  Girls Varsity Tennis vs. Seton at 4pm, Boys JV Soccer vs. Little Miami at 5pm, and Varsity Soccer at 7pm against Little Miami.

Good luck to the boys golf team as they travel to Miami Whitewater for the SWOC tournament.  Bring home the title fellas.

And that’s our broadcast on this Tuesday. I am totally legit Patrick Geshan. Thank you so much for watching — and we’ll see you tomorrow.
