The boys basketball team fell to Mount Healthy last night in their home opener they fall to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference their next game is Saturday at Colerain.

Make sure to vote for Junior Grant Monson who is up for Cincinnati athlete of the week this week after he scored in the Brave win over Beavercreek last Sunday.

The girls and boys bowling teams both fell to Ross last night they girls fall to 0-6 overall and the boys fall to 3-3 overall both bowling teams will play tomorrow at Northwest.

Home games for today: Ac Chal hosts Harrison at 4, and the girls basketball team will host Valley View JV at 6, Varsity at 7:30.

After some careful investigation Tyler Engelhard was the culprit of our technical difficulties yesterday after he left a receiver on we apologize for that so I will re-announce all my sports from yesterday again today.

The girls basketball team fell to Union County on Saturday by a 60-31 score they fall to 0-3 on the year and their next game is Wednesday vs Valley View.

Last Friday, The Talawanda Wrestling team defeated the Mount Healthy Owls with a score of 60-7.  Colton Baker, Kenna Mondello, Sammy Dillon, Davis Williams, Arius Collier, Kyle Schlabach, Julian Askren, Clayton Caudill, Terrel Wills, and Nathon Detherage all recorded victories against the Owls.

The wrestling team also defeated Hamilton Big Blue with a score of 44-31.  Colton Baker, Kenna Mondello, Sammy Dillon, Nick Englehard, Logan Crauder, Julian Askren, Terrell Wills, and Nathon Detherage all won their matches against Big Blue.

The Wrestling Team also won 7 of the 11 exhibition matches wrestled on the evening.  Joey Claire, Blake Detherage, Shae Dillingham, Colton Baker, and Dalton Howard all recorded victories in their matches.  Additionally, James Beckett won both of his matches.

The Talawanda Wrestling Team improves to 2-0 on the season in Dual Matches.  They Travel to Trenton this upcoming weekend to compete in the Edgewood Invitational on Friday and Saturday.  Come out and support the team.   #This_is_Real_WRASTLIN’

Talawanda FFA participated in the District Parliamentary Procedure competition last evening and came home with a 2nd place finish in the Advanced and a 6th place finish in the Freshman division.

 Congratulations to Justin Beckner, Grace Suit, Natalie Darner, Keira McKinney, Kenszi Mayer, Sami Russell, and Rachel Dsuban for advancing to the STATE FINALS on December 21st.

 The Academic Challenge team faced Northwest  last night.  The varsity team won by scores of 96-31 and 82-27 and were led by Shr-Hua Moore and Jens Bartel. The JV team won 68-35 had strong showings by Greg Urayama and Shr-Shiang Moore and the freshman team completed the sweep with a 70-30 victory. Top scorers included Ellie Radlinski and Kai Brown.

The boys bowling team fell to Oak Hills also on Tuesday they fall to 3-1 on the year and are also matched up with Harrison tomorrow.

The hockey team placed second at the DiPaulo tournament this weekend highlights for the weekend included Reid Benamati’s 6 goal game versus Amherst and three more wins for sophomore Daniel Emenaker. The hockey team will open up league play on Saturday as they will head to Sports Plus to battle Mason.

No home games for today. But we would like to remind you that the wrestling team will be facing Mount Healthy and West Carrolton on Friday that meet will be at Hamilton.

Art Club will meet Today, after school in Mr. Hunsche’s room until 4:00.  We have really enjoyed all the students coming to Art Club and we hope to gain even more artists before the end of the semester.

The field hockey team will still be collecting donations of small toys to send to the Dominican Republic, donations can be made inside Mrs. McCartney’s room.

Home games over break. The hockey team will compete in the Dipaolo Tournament over the weekend at Goggin. Their first game is Friday night at 8:30 against Kent Roosevelt.

And good luck to the wrestling team who will travel to Ross to take on the Rams this Friday.

Good Morning Talawanda. Today is Monday, November 25th, 2019

Key Club’s smash tournament will be held tomorrow.  Sign up on the sheet outside of room 301 (also known as Z’s room) by the end of the day if you want to join!  This is the last day to sign up.  Again, the fee is $5 when you get there, and 80% of the money made will go to the Oxford Food Pantry.  Players are encouraged to bring their own switches and controllers, but there will be some at the tournament for those who don’t have any. The rules for the tournament will be 3 stock, battlefield, no items, single elimination.  See you there!

The academic challenge team had their first tournament of the year on Saturday. The JV team went 3-2 including wins over Elder’s and Edgewood’s varsity teams.  The varsity team of Shr-Hua Moore, Jasper Ralinovsky, Jens Bartel and Paul Bolenbaugh went 6-1 winning their division.

We tried to give the rookies some experience announcing this weekend and I’ll let you judge how well that went but if you want to be my color guy for basketball this year or do some play by play announcing go to Z’s room to sign up for the open auditions.

The girls basketball team fell to Monroe in their season opener on Saturday night they fall to 0-1 on the year and their next game is next Monday vs Badin.

The hockey team defeated Thomas Worthington on Friday night by a 7-4 score and defeated Findlay on Saturday afternoon 6-1, it is a crying shame that Mr. Pearson wore his Findlay sweatshirt and watched his alma mater fall to the Brave the hockey team is now 3-0 on the year and will host the DiPaulo tournament this weekend at Goggin their first game is Friday night at 8:30 vs Kent Roosevelt.
