Last weekend the Brave Swim & Dive teams hosted a tri-meet at Miami on Friday night.  Both the boys and girls teams came away with sweeps against Badin and Waynesville.  Then on Saturday the swim teams headed to Mason for a tri-meet.  The boys were victorious against both Mason and LaSalle, while a short-handed girls team fell to both Mason and Mercy McAuley.  At the Saturday meet the boys won 10 of the 11 events, which went a long way in helping them secure the win.  Individual events wins were turned in by Daniel Mullally, Ben Crowder, Blake Madden, Alex Carlson, and Maxx Gregg.  For the girls, although they did not win any individual events, Lucy Engle and Morgan Sly both had excellent performances in the 500 Free as they dropped multiple seconds off their previous season best times.  This weekend the Brave will be hosting the SWOC Championship meet at Miami.  Both the boys and the girls will be going for their 15th consecutive conference title.

The boys basketball team picked up a huge win over Edgewood on Tuesday night with the final being 49-46, the combo of Richter and Schlichter led the Brave in points with 12 each and Craig James grabbed 7 boards for the Brave on their way to an improvement to 5-11 on the year and 3-4 in the conference with their next game being Friday versus Mount Healthy, there has been a time change, so the opening tip will now be at 6:30 against the Owls.

The academic team swept Northwest last night in dominant fashion, 104-24 and 98-30 were the finals of the two matches, the Brave keep up their unbeaten record which now improves to 6-0 next Wednesday vs Mount Healthy.

The girls basketball squeaked out a 2 point victory last night over the Cincinnati Trailblazers, the final in that one was 34-32, Kylee Fears led the team with 22 points, followed by Myah Keene with 10. The girls improve to 8-11 on the year with their next matchup set for Monday versus the Hamilton Big Blue.

Good luck to the bowling teams who will travel to take on Northwest today, And that’s our broadcast on this Thursday, I’m Luke West Poley, thanks so much for watching, and if you set your mind free, maybe you’ll understand, we’ll see you tomorrow.

I forgot to talk on Tuesday but the hockey team had a big week last week going 4-1 and taking second at the  Pioneer Classic. They fell to Olentangy Orange on Sunday, but the highlights of the week for the Brave included going 3-0 in the group stage and earlier in the week defeating #6 ranked Olentangy Liberty. The Brave move up 1 spot in the state rankings this week up to #6 and have a big weekend coming up with 2 rivalry matchups versus Miami tomorrow and Archbishop Moeller on Saturday, which will be streamed live on Channel 85.

The boys basketball team fell to Taylor on tuesday night by a score of 54-49, the points leader for the Brave was Jonathan Richter with 21, and Luke Schlichter came off the bench to add 13 tallies for the Brave. They fall to 3-11 on the year and will take on Harrison at home tomorrow.

The girls basketball team fell to Edgewood by a 67-43 score, they fall to 6-10 on the year and 3-3 in the conference. Their next game is Saturday at 2:30 versus Mount Healthy.

I glossed over Ac Chal and Swimming on Tuesday but we’ll take a more in depth look at their events today, starting with the academic team.

Congratulations to the academic challenge team for setting a record in points scored in a match, in defeating Ross 100-43 and 100-38, to improve to 4-0 on the season.  The team was led by strong performances by Michelle Miao and Jens Bartel.  The JV lost a close match to Ross despite a good match by Ben Zazycki.  The team is back in action next Wednesday in a match against Northwest.

This past weekend the Brave Swim & Dive teams faced off against league-rival Harrison.  The boys soundly defeated Harrison 173-111, while the girls, who were missing 5 key swimmers, eked out a 139-137 victory.  The boys were led by Alex Carlson, Ben Crowder, and Maxx Gregg, all of whom won both of their individual events.  For the girls Maren Patterson and Hannah Lippincott were both double event winners as well.  The Brave Swim & Dive teams will host Badin and Waynesville Friday night and on Saturday they will travel to Mason for a meet with Mason, LaSalle, and Mercy McAuley.

The wrestling team defeated Middletown last night and fell to Edgewood, highlights for the Brave included Davis Williams recording a pin versus the Middies and Nick Engelhard won his match versus the Cougars. The next match for the team will be February 6th at the SWOC dual tournament.

The hockey team is selling shirts for $10 in Mr. Tincher’s room (Show shirt)

And that’s our broadcast for today, have a great day Talawanda, stay safe and we’ll see you all back here tomorrow.

Welcome back THS, I hope everyone is staying safe and is glad to be here today, I am glad to be back in front of a real camera again, it’s been a while.

Tracking back to last week the boys basketball team fell to Northwest, Ross and Kings, the final game being an overtime defeat, they fall to 3-10 on the year and 1-4 in the conference with their next matchup being with Taylor tonight.

The girls team went 2-1 last week with a defeat on Monday to Taylor, a conference victory later versus Harrison and a resounding 50-24 win over Dayton Stivers. The girls improve to 6-9 overall on the year and 3-2 in the conference with their next game set for tomorrow at Edgewood.

The bowling teams both picked up victories over Mount Healthy, for the girls the win came by just 4 pins but for the boys it was a dominant 700 pin victory, both teams pick up their second victory on the year and will head to Northwest Lanes to take on the Knights this Thursday.

The academic team started their season off with 2 blowout wins versus Edgewood last Wednesday 99-44 and 83-44 were the scores of the matches, so a strong season opener for Ac Chal they will look to continue the momentum this Wednesday at Ross.

Both swim teams picked up victores in their duals over Harrison last week, for the girls it was a 2 point victory over the wildcats and for the boys it was a 62 point win.

And that’s our broadcast for today, super excited to be back, have a great day Talawanda, stay safe and we’ll see you all back here on Thursday.
