Good Morning Talawanda. Today is Thursday, January 21st, 2021.

Art students from last semester, please stop by the art rooms to pick up your projects and supplies. Thanks!

And now for an announcement for Key Club

And now for our daily sports report with Luke West-Poley

I forgot to talk on Tuesday but the hockey team had a big week last week going 4-1 and taking second at the  Pioneer Classic. They fell to Olentangy Orange on Sunday, but the highlights of the week for the Brave included going 3-0 in the group stage and earlier in the week defeating #6 ranked Olentangy Liberty. The Brave move up 1 spot in the state rankings this week up to #6 and have a big weekend coming up with 2 rivalry matchups versus Miami tomorrow and Archbishop Moeller on Saturday, which will be streamed live on Channel 85.

The boys basketball team fell to Taylor on tuesday night by a score of 54-49, the points leader for the Brave was Jonathan Richter with 21, and Luke Schlichter came off the bench to add 13 tallies for the Brave. They fall to 3-11 on the year and will take on Harrison at home tomorrow.

The girls basketball team fell to Edgewood by a 67-43 score, they fall to 6-10 on the year and 3-3 in the conference. Their next game is Saturday at 2:30 versus Mount Healthy.

I glossed over Ac Chal and Swimming on Tuesday but we’ll take a more in depth look at their events today, starting with the academic team.

Congratulations to the academic challenge team for setting a record in points scored in a match, in defeating Ross 100-43 and 100-38, to improve to 4-0 on the season.  The team was led by strong performances by Michelle Miao and Jens Bartel.  The JV lost a close match to Ross despite a good match by Ben Zazycki.  The team is back in action next Wednesday in a match against Northwest.

This past weekend the Brave Swim & Dive teams faced off against league-rival Harrison.  The boys soundly defeated Harrison 173-111, while the girls, who were missing 5 key swimmers, eked out a 139-137 victory.  The boys were led by Alex Carlson, Ben Crowder, and Maxx Gregg, all of whom won both of their individual events.  For the girls Maren Patterson and Hannah Lippincott were both double event winners as well.  The Brave Swim & Dive teams will host Badin and Waynesville Friday night and on Saturday they will travel to Mason for a meet with Mason, LaSalle, and Mercy McAuley.

The wrestling team defeated Middletown last night and fell to Edgewood, highlights for the Brave included Davis Williams recording a pin versus the Middies and Nick Engelhard won his match versus the Cougars. The next match for the team will be February 6th at the SWOC dual tournament.

The hockey team is selling shirts for $10 in Mr. Tincher’s room (Show shirt)

And that’s our broadcast for today, have a great day Talawanda, stay safe and we’ll see you all back here tomorrow.
