KATE:  Recording live from the THS News Room in Oxford, Ohio, this is THS daily news.
TESSA: Today is MONDAY, February 12th. I’m TESSA
KATE: and I’m KATE. Here’s what’s happening around THS:
TESSA: First up, Talawanda baseball tryouts are being held in the THS Gym on February 19th to February 21st. 9th and 10th graders will be from 6-7:30pm and 11th and 12th graders will be from 7:30pm to 9pm.
KATE: Along with that, there will be an informational meeting during tutorial on February 15th
TESSA: Now let’s talk clubs!
KATE: Anyone who signed up to perform at the coffee house needs to  attend a planning meeting tomorrow, February 13th. This meeting will be in Mr. Aerni’s room, room 320, and will take no more than 15 minutes.
TESSA: Diversity Club will also be delivering flowers  on Valentine’s Day.  ALL Diversity Club members will need to report to room 400 to help deliver.  Because of this, there will not be a meeting after school on Wednesday.
KATE: Next we would like to address that today is Member Monday for National FCCLA Week. Here at Talawanda High School we have 235 FCCLA members!! Thank you to all our members and all the activities they sponsor and carry out throughout the year!

KATE: And they would like to extend a big Thank you to all that participated in 80’s/neon Day. Tomorrow is College Apparel Day, so wear your favorite College gear!
TESSA: Well, I think that’s it for what’s happening around THS.

ADDI: We have lots of exciting news to cover from this past weekend so lets get right into that.

Wrestling was in action this weekend at Goshen High School. Individual match wins came from Colton Smith, Fisher Guenther, Will Tanner, and Kyler Brown. This week, the Wrestling team is preparing for the SWOC tournament, which will be held this Friday night at Harrison High School.

Also this past weekend the swim teams competed in the sectional swim meets, the first stop on their journey to state. Of the 54 individual swims this weekend 40 of them were career bests. The teams also qualified 14 individuals to the district meet this weekend, where spots in the state championships will be on the line. Congratulations to the following individuals for qualifying to the district meet:  Anna Gregg, Abbie Curry, Morgan Sly, Kaylyn Macechko, Caroline Mignery, Scarlett HIllman, Lindsay Offenburger, Ryan Warholak, Stephen Mullally, Adam Hunt, Jonah Femiani, Patrick Mullally, John Larson, and Evan Zhou. The district meet will be on Saturday at the Miami Rec Center.

Boys basketball took on Reading on Saturday although ending in a loss, our very own Cale Lietch set a new record for most 3 pointers in a season as he dropped his 60th 3 of the year

Sounds like an awesome weekend for talawanda athletics as for tonight we got nothing going on in the world of sports and no content for you guys today so i’m gonna send it right back to the desk
