Good morning Talawanda, today is Tuesday, January 25th, 2022.

All students interested in playing lacrosse this spring, need to attend a parent/player meeting on Monday, January 31st.  The meeting will last from 6 pm to 7 pm in the PAC.  If you have any questions visit Coach Johnson in room 120.  

Girls Soccer will be working out in the field house on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30.  If you have any questions please contact Julia Rode or Kelsey Sams.  Let’s kick it!

There will be an FCA meeting this Wednesday, January 26th, at 2:20 at Kofenya uptown. Anyone is welcome to attend, and we hope you consider joining our chapter to help grow our community and impact our school. Brave TVs resident legal expert Tyler Hazelwood explains the legal system in honor of Talawanda’s mock trial competition team.

There will be a Best Buddies meeting on Thursday after school until 3:30 in Mrs. Sammons room.

Diversity Club is meeting Wednesday right after school in Ms. Morris’s room.  We will be planning our valentine’s day activities.

Project Green will meet TODAY at 3pm in Mrs. Ruther’s room (224). All are welcome.

The girls basketball cruised to a road win over Eaton last night in non-league play 59-37, the team was led by Kylee Fears with 19 points, additionally Myah Keene and Taylor Farris also surpassed double digits in scoring, the girls are no 13-2 overall and will resume conference play tomorrow at Northwest.

On Saturday the swim and dive teams traveled to St. Xavier to take part in their JV Invitational.  Although this was an unscored meet there were still a number of great performances. Hannah Lippincott and Zeke Groom both finished 2nd in the 50 Free, Ellie Killy finished 2nd in the 100 Back, and Lucy Wang finished 2nd in the 100 Breast.  Additionally Kaydence Morris broke 30 in her 50 Free for the first time and Annmery Katto dropped 9 seconds in her 100 Breast.  The swim and dive teams will be back in action Saturday evening at the SWOC Championship meet.  The boys will be looking to earn their 16th straight league title while the girls will be looking to reclaim the championship this year after losing a heartbreaker last year to Ross.  The meet will be at Miami and it will start at 5:30 PM.

Home games: the bowling teams will host Mount Healthy at Oxford Lanes starting at 4, and the boys basketball team will host Northwest, Freshman at 4:30, JV at 6, and varsity at 7:30, it is also senior night so make sure to support the team, we’ll have that game live here on Channel 85 as well so make sure to tune in.
