Good Morning Talawanda. Today is Monday, September 23rd, 2019

Lost & Found is already overflowing with water bottles, lunch boxes and always lots and lots of clothes!  Come to the main office before Wednesday.  Everything will be given to Goodwill.

Key Club will be having its first meeting today after school in room 423.  We’ll be handing out some important papers at this meeting, so be sure to come!

Seniors interested in assisting with sophomore PRIDE Day should pick up an application from Mrs. Peter in the counseling office.

HOMECOMING is right around the corner! If you need assistance with homecoming attire, please see Ashley in the guidance office any Monday, Wednesday or Friday. 

Attention Talawanda baseball players: Open Field has been cancelled this afternoon but we will still lift weights from 3:30-4:30.

Now for today’s birthdays, Corey Niehoff turns 15 and Madlyn Manning turns 18. Happy Birthday.

The girls field hockey team defeated Wallnut Hills yesterday by a 4-1 score Skyler Lawson and Ava Wetzel each had 2 goals and Tatyanna Whalen was the winning goalie for the Brave the JV team tied Walnut Hills 0-0 and their next game is tonight at home versus Walnut Hills we’ll carry that game live on Channel 85.

Make sure to vote for senior Dalton Norris for Tri-State Football player of the week on their site, Dalton had 2 sacks, a fumble recovery and a touchdown in the Brave’s last game versus New Richmond.

The football team defeated New Richmond by a 29-6 score, touchdowns for the Brave came from Dalton Norris, Terrell Wills, Deondre Bothast-Revalee and Luke Richardson on a kick return, they also had a safety in the game, the football team improves to 4-0 on the year and play this Friday at Little Miami.

The cross country team ran at Centerville’s Saturday Night Lights against many of the state’s best on Saturday evening.  This is a unique race where the last few races are run under the lights with the finish on the track in front of 10 thousand spectators.  The girls had 15 out of 17 runners set season or personal best times to finish 13th out of 27 teams.  Hannah Lippincott led the way with an 18th place finish out of 253 runners.  Hannah’s time of 18:25 for the 5K course makes her the third fastest individual in Talawanda history.  Maddy Iden, Libby Farmer, Lilly Iden, and Abby Bahlau rounded out the scoring for the Brave.  In the boys’ race there were 13 season or career best times as Kiefer Bell also became the third fastest in school history.  He ran the course in 16 minutes and 15 seconds to place 32nd in the field of 233 runners.  Logan Murray, Jens Bartel, and Benjamin Farmer also ran personal bests, with Daniel Sawdai rounding out the scoring.  The team has the week off and will return to action the following Saturday at Eaton.
