Students interested in the Environment and Natural Science Club: Bring in your plant starts to Mrs. Ruther on or before our next meeting day, Tuesday February 19th, right after school in room 224.

The FCCLA Chapter is selling Valograms for $4 to benefit service projects in the community, the items can be purchased at lunch, and will be delivered on February 14th during 5th period

Seniors- The application deadline for both the Talawanda Scholarships and the Oxford Community Foundation Scholarships are due in the Guidance Office by next Wednesday, February 20th. Stop by the guidance office to get a copy of your transcript, you can make as many copies as needed. These do not need to be official. See Mrs. Roy in the Guidance Office with any questions.

The THS Key Club will be selling roses at lunch starting tomorrow for $2 a piece. Optional note cards will be available for anyone wanting to attach a message to their rose. Get one while you can because this is a limited time offer, we only have 100 available. The money will be going to a local charity.

This is the final week to sign up for the February 22nd Setting Stone Coffee House. Sign up on the sheet posted outside of Mr. Aerni’s room 320. Anyone signed up to perform should plan on attending a brief, mandatory meeting on Tuesday, February 19th.

Attention all seniors, your senior pictures are due to Mr. Zimmerman by March 1st.  If you still haven’t bought a yearbook, please go to jostens.com to order yours today.

Talawanda’s Key club will be hosting a Smash Brothers tournament for charity on March 1st in room 301 from 3:00 to 6:00. The cost will be 5 dollars up front on the day of the tournament. Participants should sign up on the sheet outside of room 301. Anyone else is welcome to join. A cash prize will be awarded to the winner. For further details, ask Eli Walter, Shr-Hua Moore, or Kyle Hoefker.

The boys basketball team lost to Eaton last night by a score of 63-58. The Brave held the lead at some points in the second half. David Kraushar led Talawanda scorers with 19 point and Jonathan Richter had 15. Talawanda falls to 1-20 overall, their final regular season game will take place this Friday at the gym for senior night against Ross. 

This past weekend the swim teams took part in the sectional meets. The boys finished in a tie for 3rd place with Oak Hills, falling only to St. X and Elder. The girls finished in 4th plae falling only to St. Ursula, Seton, and Mercy McCauley. Notice that it was only private schools that finished ahead of Talawanda. The Brave recorded 43 season best times at the meet. Qualifying to this week’s district meet in individual events were Ben Crowder, John Anzano, and Mercy Patterson. The Brave also have 5 relays moving on to distrcits as well, where Blake Madden, Rhyan Meyeers, Maxx Gregg, James Anzano, Zeke Groom, Luke LIang, Lilia Hool, Kenna Mondello, Rory Adryan, and Hannah Lippincott all qualified as well. The district meet is this weekend at Miami, he boys swim Saturday morning and the Girls Saturday evening. And don’t forget swim and dive teams, please bring our warm up jackets with you to school tomorrow so you can have a team picture with the SWOC Champion Banners.

So last night, the Talawanda diving team’s District meet was held, and the Brave produced 2 state qualifiers. Sam Hool took home the old and Sean Mondello finished 4th/ Hool is the first Men’s Diving District winnner for Talawanda since the 1990’s/ The Divers will compete at State on February 23rd in Canton, Ohio — so congratulations to them. The girls will have their diving meet tonight at the Miami Rec Center.

No other home games are scheduled for today, but we do wish the Girls Basketball team best of luck as they travel to face off against Lakota West in a First Round playoff matchup at Lakota East High School. Tickets are $7 a piece at the door with the tip tonight at 7:30.
