Attention NHS members: We will meet after school on Thursday, January 31 above the media center. We’ll take our club yearbook photo and begin planning our charity volleyball tournament

Oxford Parks and Recreation will be visiting Lunch Today to pass out information on summer jobs. There will be info on lifeguarding, camp leaders, and front gate/concession stand workers. They will be available to answer any questions and have applications for anyone who wants to apply.

Any senior who is interested in the Ohio Operating Engineer Apprenticeship program should pick up an application packet from their school counselor. Applications are being accepted January 28-30 and February 7-9. Apprentices in this program earn $18 an hour in their first year and will earn $29 an hour by year four. Again, for more information about this or other apprenticeship programs, please see your counselor. 

Any junior or senior who would like to attend Butler Tech’s apprenticeship day on February 10th, please see Mr. Phelps in room 518 for more information. This field trip will allow you to listen to a panel discussion and have conversations with electricians, sheet metal workers, construction laborers, and many other professions.

Attention all seniors, your senior pictures are due to Mr. Zimmerman by March 1st.  If you still haven’t bought a yearbook, please go to www.jostens.com to order yours today.

Seniors- The Talawanda Local Scholarship and The Oxford Community Scholarship Books are both now available. They have been sent to your school email, posted on our website and are also available in the guidance office. Transcripts for these scholarships do not need to be official so you will be given one copy of your transcript and you can duplicate as needed. All applications are due back to guidance Wednesday, February 20th by the end of school. The Oxford Community Foundation and the Talawanda local have different requirements so please read directions carefully. See Mrs.Roy in the guidance office with any questions.

Diversity club invites everyone to attend the anti-Islamophobia workshop in the media center today after school. It will be led by guest speaker Melina Gonzalez, who will share with us her experience of working with Syrian refugees in Germany. Come to learn about how we can be better neighbors and friends to Muslim Americans.

Birthdays for today: Elizabeth Paulsen turns 18

We at the THS Daily News had one of our own kidnapped yesterday.  As you can imagine, this has us all distraught and worried for Patty G’s safety.  Our news crew and Mr. Z decided to investigate the disappearance…

The Girls basketball game scheduled for Wednesday at home was moved to today at Eaton due to frigid cold temperatures tomorrow. We wish the girl’s basketball team luck as they travel to face Eaton tonight.

There is a boys tennis meeting Thursday in Mr. Thomas’ room right after school for any boys wishing to play tennis this spring
