Good morning Talawanda, today is Friday, October 1st, 2021.

Next week is FCCLA Awareness Week. Wear your favorite decade on Monday. Tuesday is school spirit day. On Wednesday wear your PJs as a throwback to online class. Thursday make advocacy count by wearing the color of the cancer that has most effected you or your family. On Friday we are wearing red and white or any FCCLA gear! FCCLA members will also be able to pick up their T Shirts and join us for a grill out during your lunchtime!

After a record breaking field goal in Detroit on Sunday, Parker and the boys think they can do better, check it out.

If you are interested in playing in the Powderpuff football tournament this year, listen up – sign ups for each class are posted outside of room 301 in the rotunda.  This is Mr. Zimmerman’s room, and if you have questions please let him know.  The cost is $15 for the team shirts, make sure you pick up your liability form when you sign up and turn it in by Friday, October 8th to room 301 to confirm your spot!  The games will take place Wednesday, October 20th starting at 6pm.  The football players for each class will be responsible for coaching up the girls for your team and everyone is invited to come watch, so it is a great chance to make some memories with your classmates!  The seniors have already declared a win, and said quote “No one else should even try”.  Get hyped, powderpuff is back!

It was a clean Edgewood sweep for the Brave yesterday as 3 sports were in action.

Starting with the volleyball team who pulled of a dramatic comeback in 5 sets on Volley for the Cure night, additionally it was Coach Ruchelle Dunwoody’s 100th win so congrats the volleyball team on a big night, the team has now won 9 of their last 10 and will host Oak Hills tomorrow.

The boys soccer team defeated the Cougars on the road 2-1 last night, Logan Kent and Landon Nates added tallies for the Boys who are now 6-1 in conference, they will host Northwest on Tuesday.

The girls soccer team defeated Edgewood in a wild 5-4 game, McKenzie Hanson had a natural hat trick for the Brave in the first half, the girls are now 2-6-1 on the year and will host the Eaton Eagles tomorrow.

Home games: the girls soccer team hosts Eaton tomorrow, JV at 3, and Varsity at 5, it is also senior night for the girls so make sure to come out and support, also good luck to the football team who heads to Ross tonight for a week 7 matchup with the Rams, I’ll have the call with Patty G on Chatterbox Live plus, it is a camo out if you’re making the trip to Hamilton.

Good morning Talawanda, today is Thursday, September 30th, 2021.

‘A Braves Care’ pink t-shirts will be sold at lunch for $15, Volley for a cure is today against Edgewood, make sure to wear pink to the game.

Talawanda Project Green Club is meeting this Thursday, September 30th at 3pm in Mrs. Ruther’s room (224). Anyone interested in the environment and outdoors is welcome.

Parker and the boys tested out their strength today, turns out they’re about as strong as Tom Brady, take a look.

The boys golf team came away with a 2nd place finish yesterday the SWOC championships at Miami Whitewater, Conner Schulte was the top finisher for the Brave in 5th position, the team will have one final regular season match with Fairfield on Tuesday prior to the Sectional Tournament next Wednesday.

The girls golf team was 3rd at the SWOC championships yesterday led by Kylee Goerss and Sophia Moore who both tied for second with rounds of 93, the team will head to Walden Ponds on Tuesday to begin Sectional action.

The cross country teams competed in a non-scoring tri-meet yesterday at Eaton, Logan Murray won the race and Lily Iden was the 2nd girls finisher, also the boys and girls ran together so shoutout to Nathaniel Iden who beat his sister last night.

Home games: the girls soccer team will host Edgewood, JV at 5, Varsity at 7 and we have a Bonus Brave Broadcast for you tonight as the volleyball team hosts their Volley for the Cure games against Edgewood, JV B at 4:30, JV at 5:45 and Varsity at 7 it’ll be live here on Channel 85 and if you’re going make sure to wear pink, also good luck to the girls tennis team who is competing at the SWOC championships at Miami today.

Speaking of lunch, student behavior in the lunchroom has improved but we have made a video to remind you of the rules that we have to follow when we go to the cafeteria everyday.

Have you ever wondered how you would do against the NFL’s best?  Parker and the boys decided to continue running their simulation in Madden ratings and have some news to report on their throwing power.

The girls soccer team fell to Harrison 4-2 on the road last night, their record falls to 1-6-1 on the season and 1-3-1 in the SWOC, they will have a home matchup with Edgewood tomorrow.

The field hockey team fell to Summit Country Day yesterday, Sydney Berryman had 2 goals for the Brave in the effort, the girls will host Mount Notre Dame on Monday.

The tennis team was defeated by Mercy McAuley last night 3-2, their record is now even at 9-9 on the season with the SWOC tournament at Miami coming up tomorrow.

Home games: none, but good luck to the boys and girls golf teams who will head to Miami Whitewater for the SWOC championships today.

The profit will be donated to Luna Cares to support those affected by cancer.  Volley for the Cure is this Thursday September 30th against Edgewood!  We would like to have a pink out all day and at the game!    

Seniors – we will be hosting a College Essay Workshop today from 3-4:30 PM in the cafeteria! Mr. Davie shared an email with you about this event which included a link to sign up for a zoom call with Ohio State Admission reps OR you can get face-to-face help from Miami Admissions in the cafeteria, no appointment necessary.

The volleyball team defeated Franklin County last night in 3 sets, they improve their record to 9-5 on the year and will have their volley for the cure pink out game on Thursday against Edgewood.

The boys soccer team completed the season sweep versus Harrison in a dramatic 2-0 victory last night, Logan Kent notched both tallies and Parker Geshan recorded the clean sheet for the Brave who are now 5-3-1 on the season and 5-1 in conference with a road matchup set for Thursday against Edgewood.

The girls tennis team was defeated by Valley View on the road last night, they are now 9-8 and will have one final tune before the SWOC tournament at Mercy McAuley tonight.

The football team fell to Harrison at home 38-7 on Friday, the team is now 1-4 on the season and 0-1 to start SWOC play with a big test coming up on the road at Ross on Friday.

Also a huge congrats to Bryson Fears, Rylyn Jackson and the football team who were all voted for Cincinnati athlete and team of the week on Friday a huge thank you goes out to everyone who voted.

Tickets are on sale through 8pm tonight. Tickets CANNOT be purchased at the dance! Also, you cannot wear high heels on the football field, so bring a change of shoes or plan to go barefoot. We WILL be checking so that the turf is not damaged. Finally, be sure to bring a mask!

The volleyball team dominated Taylor last night coming away with a 3-0 victory, the team is now 8-5 on the season and will have a conference match with Harrison tomorrow on the road.

Good morning Talawanda, today is Monday, September 20th, 2021.

The homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, September 25th from 7 to 10pm outside at the stadium. Students and all in attendance will be required to wear masks. Students may bring one outside guest in at least grade 9 and under the age of 21. If a student brings an outside guest, they must fill out a permission slip and TURN it in to purchase a guest ticket. Guest forms can be picked up in the main office. Tickets will be $10 per person. To purchase a ticket, students should scan the QR codes on the hallway signs or visit talawandaathletics.org. Students must enter their student ID numbers to purchase an individual ticket. For outside guests, permission slips must be turned in to receive a ticket code for purchase.

Now for a look at spirit week followed by sports with Luke WP.

The football team picked up their first win of the season on the road at Carroll on Friday, 7-0 was the final in a defensive battle for the Brave, Hayden Marcum caught the lone touchdown pass to move the team to 1-3 on the season. The team begins conference play this Friday in a homecoming matchup with the Harrison Wildcats.

The cross country teams both competed at the Eaton Invitational on Saturday, both teams placed second, Logan Murray was the boys leader finishing in the top 10 and Hannah Lippincott did the same for the girls, both cross country teams will have the week off before a 2 mile tri-meet at Eaton next week.

The boys golf team shot a collective 340 at the Best of the West at Miami Whitewater yesterday, leading the way for the boys was Henry Bowers with a round of 81.

A lot of home games today: the tennis team hosts Madison at 4, the boys golf team hosts National Trail also at 4, the field hockey team hosts Fairmont at 6, and the volleyball teams host Taylor JV at 5:45 and Varsity at 7.

We’re having some issues with our channel at the moment so we are unsure at the moment if we’ll be able to do girls volleyball tonight, that situation is still being worked out, we apologize for that, but speaking of our channel, we would like to thank everyone as we just hit 1000 Youtube subscribers, we appreciate all of your supports we are still working out what we’re going to do for our 1k special but we’ll let you know as soon as decide.
