Good morning Talawanda, today is Friday, April 29th, 2022.

The 2022 prom will be May 7th. Tickets are $40/each and are on sale until May 6th at lunch, with Mrs Johnson, or with Ms Mann. Please email Ms Mann for information about bringing guests who aren’t Talawanda students or any other prom-related questions. The prom will be held at Shriver Center on Miami’s campus, with an after prom at the REC Center. Your ticket includes admission to both events! 

If students are interested in CCP for the fall semester, the application deadline is May 1st.  See your School Counselor if you have any questions.

Best buddies and national honor society will host a friendship walk next Thursday, May 5th and Friday May 6th during tutorial.  That means that Friday will be on a tutorial schedule to make time for this event.  Students and their teachers will be invited to come to the bus lanes on one of the two days for a short walking course, four square, cornhole, music, sidewalk chalk, and plenty of snacks to celebrate friendship, inclusion, and the end of the school year.

The softball team blew out Badin 9-0 for the seniors last night, McKenna Weekley led the way with a complete game shutout. The team will head on the road over the weekend beginning with a game at Harrison later today.

The baseball team shutout the Cincinnati Trailblazers 3-0, Connor Brosey had himself a night going 1 for 3 at the plate while pitching a complete game shutout.

Boys Tennis lost to Harrison and drop to 3-1 in the conference, they won’t play next until Monday.

The track team continues their action tonight at the Wayne Invitational with over 94 teams in attendence, congratulations to podium finishers Kaydence Morris in the triple jump and Hailey O’Brian in the high jump last night.

There is a free Lifeguard certification course offered through the Oxford Aquatic Center, it is May 20th-22nd. You must pass the pre-requisite skills test the first day of class, you must complete the pre-course work online prior to the first day of training and when you pass you must work a minimum of 150 hours at the Oxford Aquatic Center during the 2022 summer season. Kondo’s birthday was yesterday, the daily news was there when he got to celebrate with his birthday cake.

The baseball team swept Mount Healthy in a doubleheader 14-0 and 14-1 were the final scores, the baseball team is now 12-5 overall and 10-2 in the SWOC holding a narrow lead over Ross for first place and their next game will be tonight against Cincinnati Trailblazers.

The lacrosse team fell on the road last night to Wilmington, 16-9 was the final, the team will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at Seven Hills.

Home games for today: the tennis team will host Harrison in a conference match at 4, also the softball team will host non-conference rival Badin on the field beginning at 5.

The lacrosse team picked up a HUGE win last night against Madeira 16-6, Gunnar Von Bergen led the team with 4 goals. The team heads to Wilmington tonight looking for their 3rd win in a row.

The baseball team took down Harrison last night 3-0, Parker Geshan picked up the complete game shutout and the team will head to Mt. Healthy to face the Owls. 

After dropping the first game 5-2, the Softball team crushed Waynesville 11-2 to pick up their 12th win of the year, they’ll get ready for a big game against Badin on Thursday.

The tennis team beat La Salle last night and move to 7-5 on the year.

Home games for today: the tennis team will take on Mariemont with that starting at 4.

The lacrosse team picked up a huge blowout victory on the road at Clinton Massie last night, 20-2 was the final, Jonathan Hall led the team with a whopping 8 goals in the victory, the team will continue a big week of games with a senior night matchup with Madeira this evening.

The baseball team’s game was postponed last night and rescheduled for today.

Home games for today: the tennis team will take on LaSalle at 4, the baseball team will host Harrison at 5, and the lacrosse team will have their senior night game tonight versus Madeira with action on the field beginning at 6.

The baseball team split an eventful weekend with a big win over conference foe Edgewood on Friday, 10-0 was the final in that one, on Saturday the team took on the #1 team in the state for division 3 in the CHCA Eagles at Xavier University, the squad fell in that game by an 8-4 score, the boys take the lead in the conference championship race after the weekend with a record of 7-2 and will be at home today against Harrison.

The softball team suffered 2 losses to Arcanum on Saturday, the first by a 6-5 score and the second by a 9-1 score, the girls are now 11-5 overall and will look to rebound tomorrow as they head to Waynesville for a doubleheader beginning at 4:30.

The track teams headed to Eaton for the Dean Stoltz invitational over the weekend, the boys came away with the team championship and the girls were third, event wins came from Logan Murray and Hannah Lippincott in the 1600, Olivia Andrews and Henry Hoblitzell in the pole vault and the boys 4×100 meter relay team, the track team will divide the squads later this week with some athletes heading to Ross on Thursday and some heading to Huber Heights for the 2 day Wayne Invite on Thursday and Friday.

Home games for today: the baseball team will host Harrison in a crucial conference battle, action will begin at 5 on the field this evening.

The baseball team dominated Mount Healthy in a 4 inning run rule 20-1 last night, the team is now 8-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play, the teams got an important slate of games this weekend beginning with a matchup with Edgewood tonight.

The softball team fell to Harrison last night, 11-5 was the final, the girls are now 11-3 on the season, they will host Arcanum in a doubleheader tomorrow.

The tennis team swept Monroe last night 5-0, the boys are now 6-5 on the season, they will head to Seven Hills for a matchup with the B team on Monday.

The lacrosse team fell to Beavercreek last night 17-4, the boys will head to Clinton Massie on Monday.

Also congrats to the 3 new head coaches named yesterday, the girls golf team will be coached by Bob Wilson, the field hockey team will be taken over by Macy McHale, and the boys basketball team will be led by 2014 Talawanda alum Connor Roberts, best of luck to all of our new coaches.

Home games for this weekend: the baseball team will host Edgewood tonight, also they will be the home team tomorrow at CHCA for the showcase game played at Xavier University, additionally the softball team will host Arcanum in a doubleheader beginning tomorrow at 10 am.

The baseball team defeated the top team in the SWOC in Edgewood last night, 4-1 was the final, Parker Geshan pitched a complete game in the win, the boys hand Edgewood their first conference loss of the season and improve to 7-4 overall, they will host Mount Healthy tonight.

The softball team survived a late surge to knock off Ross last night, the final in that one was 14-12, Lily Iden and Madie Patton both hit homers for the Brave, the girls are now 11-2 overall and 8-1 in the conference with the biggest matchup of the year set for tonight against 7-0 SWOC foe Harrison.

Congrats to the Freshman baseball team who picked up their first win of the season last night against Landmark Christian, 10-8, shoutout Head Coach Evan “Cheese” Kennel on his first career win.

Home games for today: the baseball team will host Mount Healthy at 5, also the lacrosse team will faceoff with Beavercreek at 6.

The tennis team squeaked out a big road victory over Ross last night, 3-2 was the final, the boys are now 5-4 overall and a perfect 3-0 in conference, the team hits the road again tonight for a date with Fairfield.

The lacrosse team picked up win number one on the season last night over Franklin, 11-7 was the final score, congrats to the team on a big win, they will be back in action tomorrow at home versus Beavercreek.

It was a good weekend for the baseball team who picked up a pair of conference wins over the Ross on Thursday and Friday, their game against Mount Healthy yesterday was cancelled due to weather, the team will look to complete the sweep over the Rams this evening on the road, also make sure to support the team this weekend as they will take the field on Saturday at noon for the Cincinnati Reds showcase, the team will take on the eagles from CHCA at Xavier University.

The softball team went 3-0 over the long weekend, it began with a 19-2 win over Edgewood Friday, followed by 2 wins on Saturday in a doubleheader against Eaton, the team is now 10-2 on the season and will resume conference play tomorrow at Ross.

The tennis team took down Northwest on Thursday, the boys improve to an even 500 at 4-4 on the year and will head to Ross for a 4 o’clock match this afternoon.

The lacrosse team fell to Fairmont over the weekend, 14-4 was the final, the team will look to rebound today as they host Franklin.

The track teams were both in action in 2 meets this weekend, on Friday the girls took 5th and the boys 4th at the Harrison Greg Zuleger Invitational, event wins came for the boys and girls in the pole vault and the boys 100, the team returned to the track last night for senior night and the Talawanda Dale Plank Invitational, both teams took home the championships with many wins across different event groups, highlights came by way of 3 meet records from Lucia Rodbro, Logan Murray and Henry Hoblitzell, also someone may or may not have fell on his face after the mile, the track teams will head to Eaton on Saturday for the Eagle Invitational.

Home games for today: the lacrosse team will host Franklin, the game will begin at 6 tonight.

Good morning Talawanda, today is Wednesday, April 13th, 2022.

We will have talent show tickets for the final day today!  They will be available at all lunches in the lunch room and throughout the day in room 611 there is a $3 donation with all proceeds going to Children’s Hospital!  You HAVE to have a ticket to get into the show on Thursday!  Please see Mrs. Gregory if you have any questions.

We raised $52 for the next video of extreme week.  Today, Parker and boys try to solve a multiplication table while being pelted with eggs.  Most correct answers wins, and it isn’t spelling so Tyler Hazelwood might have a chance.

The grand reveal of the final standings will be at the Talent show tomorrow.  The bottom two in our competition will be getting a little haircut tomorrow and we will be auctioning off a chance to be the barber.  So bring your cash, all proceeds will be donated to the total for Children’s Hospital.

What’s up everyone, shoutout to Zander Moore for filling in on sports this past week while I was away, I can say, however that I was in yesterday but were busy filming something special for you all so keep an eye out for that tomorrow.

The baseball team fell to Harrison last night 10-1, the team is now 4-3 on the season and 2-1 in the conference, they will hit the road they will hit the road for one final game this evening at Ross before a long homestand that begins tomorrow.

The softball team dropped a non-conference matchup with Little Miami last night, 5-3 was the final, the team is now 7-2 this season and will look to rebound at Edgewood tonight at 5.

The boys tennis team swept Edgewood last night in their first conference match, the team will host Wyoming this afternoon in non-conference play.

The track teams both cruised to victories at the Eaton Relays last night, event wins came across the board in distance, sprints and field, the highlight of the night for the Brave came in the pole vault with 2 school records as Olivia Andrews improved on her all time best mark and Henry Hoblitzell broke a nearly 40 year old record with a vault of 14 feet and 7 inches, the track teams will be at Harrison this weekend with JV competing tomorrow and Varsity on Friday.

Home games for today: the lacrosse team will faceoff with Monroe, it will be a 6 o’clock start tonight at the field as the team looks to pick up their first win of the season.
