Today, the Robotics League will meet in room 412 at 3pm.
Come down to the Spirit Store before school or during lunch/5th period today to grab your merch.  Show your spirit with $15 t-shirts and $25 sweatshirts.  Part of the money raised will go to Best Buddies.”
There will be a diversity club holiday party after school until 4:30 on Monday, in Mrs. Schulze’s room 200. We will have crafts, hot chocolate, snacks, and good company! New members are always welcome.
The practice ACT will take place in the cafeteria saturday.

The Bowling match vs Northwest got cancelled last night due to illness
No home games today but on the road Boys Basketball heads to Monroe looking for their first win of the season.
And on Saturday the Academic team travels to Northmont for a tournament while Wrestling will head to Dayton Christian

The boys lost a close one to Taylor last night 39-38, Logan Smith recorded a double double in the season opener while Cale Leitch went 4-8 from 3. The boys will get a chance to bounce back Friday when they head to Monroe.
That’s our sports for today but with the holiday season upon us, Julio went around and asked students what they want for Christmas.

Tuesday, November 29th

Tribune will meet from 3-3:45 in room 417 today

The Girls took out Hamilton with ease last night, 64-21 the final score. Kylee Fears recorded another Double Double, while Taylor Farris dropped 18 points of her own. A 2-0 start to the season will be tested when Edgewood comes to town next Wednesday.

Boys Basketball has their first game of the season tonight at home vs the Taylor Yellow Jackets at 7:30

Monday, November 28th

Good morning Talawanda, today is Monday, November 28th, 2022.

Mock Trial will meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30- 7:30 this week. Varsity Mock trial will also meet on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30

Tribune will meet from 3:30 to 3:45 in room 417.

There will be parent teacher conferences on December 1st from 3-7.

On Friday, the FCT Robotics League will meet at 3 in room 412.

While we were on break Girls Basketball opened up their season on the road at Valley View, the girls soundly defeated the Spartans 61-29, they were led by senior Kylee Fears who recorded her 52nd career double double potting 29 points and 16 rebounds. Hamilton comes into town tonight at 7:30.
Boys Basketball kicks off their season tomorrow at Home vs Taylor.
One home game tonight, Girls Basketball takes on Hamilton for the home opener, the game will be broadcasted here on Channel 85, tip off at 7:30.
That’s our sports for today, but before we left for Thanksgiving break, Bogseth and the Boys made hand turkeys.

Friday, November 18th

Good morning Talawanda, today is Friday, November 18th, 2022.

Next week is a short week! Fall break begins on Wednesday.

Mock Trial and Tribune will meet on Thursday November 22nd.

Good morning Talawanda, today is Thursday, November 17th, 2022.

Attention NHS members!  We will meet after school today in the Performing Arts Center.  The meeting will end by 3:30 at the latest

The Talawanda Tribune, Talawanda’s online news organization, collected essays of what people were thankful for during the month of November. Jordan Gresham asked the Tribune staff what they were thankful for.

Stay tuned for the winner of this month’s essay contest after the Tribune Staff makes their announcement.

FCCLA Blood Drive is this Friday.  If you would like to donate please see Mrs. Gregory ASAP.

Best Buddies will meet today after school in room 316.  We will have a turkey scavenger hunt, popcorn and pie, and play other turkey-themed games.  New members are always welcome. If you are curious about what Best Buddies does, Ellie Killy went to find out some more information.

The football All-Conference Teams came out, making first team all conference for Talawanda were Punter Joe Claire, Wide Receiver Hayden Marcum, and D-Lineman DJ Morris-Williams. Second team all conference consisted of Linebackers Blake Detherage and Sammy Dillon, and Runningback Da’Quawn Roberson. Logan Howard received the honorable mention, and Owen King took home the sportsmanship award. Congrats to all these athletes.

Talawanda High School has partnered with Torch Prep, an innovative test prep program, to offer our students a practice ACT test.  This test will be given on December 3 from 8AM- 12PM at the THS cafeteria.  Cost is $10.  The registration deadline is November 25,2022.

And now over to Brady with Schuttes Sports
The academic challenge team competed at the Little Miami tournament this weekend. The A Team of Kai Brown, Tesh Bali, Myles Fankhauser, Julian Danoff and player/coach Ben Zazycki won the Green division and finished 3rd overall out of 30 teams. The B team of Hannah Hoblitzell, Victor Li, Elias and Gabriel Jones played a number of close matches against more experienced schools.

My fantasy team took down Aiden Bruder this weekend 150 – 130, moving me to 4 and 6 overall. Looking to close out the season strong, heading into the playoffs.

I don’t know about you, but bandwagon fans drive me crazy. I’m a big dolphins fan, and you have to be loyal to your team even during the down years to be considered a true fan. Brayden Shifflet agrees, and made this video. Have a great day Talawanda.
