Signups for the November 3rd Powderpuff game are happening now. Sign up outside of Mr. Z’s room, room 301. Registration is $15, and all proceeds go to benefit the Best Buddies club.
MARLEY:
The Robotics club will meet today after school from 3 to 4 in Mrs. Schrann’s room, room 412.
GRACIE:
Attention Setting Stone members: the merch printing field trip has changed dates.
MARLEY:
Setting Stone will have a regular meeting tomorrow, after school, in Mr. Aerni’s room. All members should plan to attend to discuss the new printing date, as well as the upcoming Coffee House.
GRACIE:
And, speaking of the Coffee House–Signups are for any performer who would like to perform on November 3rd.
MARLEY:
That’s right. If you are interested in performing at the November 3rd Coffee House, sign up today outside of Mr. Aerni’s room, room 320.

Other meeting taking place tomorrow after school are Art Club in Mrs. Claire’s room, room 603
MARLEY:
as well as Project Green, meeting in Mrs. Ruther’s room, room 224.

Well, as you all know, it’s getting close to Halloween.
MARLEY:
And, to celebrate, several groups here at THS are hosting a couple “trick-or-treat” events tomorrow.
GRACIE:
Best Buddies is hosting their trick-or-treat event tomorrow after school. Members can go to participating classrooms to pick up some treats.
MARLEY:
Later tomorrow night is the FCCLA “Trunk-or-Treat” event in the THS parking lot. This will run from 6:00 to 7:30 and, in addition to treats, will feature crafts, a photo shoot, games, and fire trucks!
GRACIE:
This morning, some members of the junior and senior classes hopped on a charter bus and are currently headed to Washington DC.
MARLEY:

Sounds like they are headed for an amazing experience.
MARLEY:
Another event coming up soon is the YIT pickleball bash: fall tournament.
GRACIE:
This event will be held at the Tri Pickleball courts on Monday, October 30th from 4 to 6 p.m. The winning team will receive a prize.
MARLEY:
Last week we reported on Key Club’s food drive in support of the TOPPS food pantry. And, you can still bring in jars of peanut butter, boxed mac and cheese, and canned tuna to your first period class all this week.
GRACIE:
But, Key Club is also doing a fundraiser all this week. It’s called “Boo-ing”
MARLEY:
Sounds spooky! Key Club will have a table set up at lunch all week where students can buy candy and send anonymous messages to friends. Check it out.

The cross country team attended districts on Saturday runners Lucia Rodbro, Adrianna Luking, Garrison Franks, Max Bixler, and Bryson Fears all qualified to compete in regionals next weekend.

One last reminder about lost and found items: the main office wants all THS students to know that there is a table in the main entrance breezeway full of lost-and-found items.
ALEXIS:
All items not claimed will be donated. So, make sure to check out that table today.
MADALYN:

MADALYN: There are a few meetings today, including Diversity Club and Swim and Dive Team.
SIENNA: That’s right. Diversity Club will meet after school today in Mrs. Schultze’s room, room 400, to discuss and prep for the Middle School Fall Festival coming up on Friday.
MADALYN: And, this evening, there is a preseason meeting for anyone interested in the Swim and Dive team.
SIENNA: The Swim and Dive team meeting will take place in the cafeteria at 7:00 this evening. If you can’t make the meeting, be sure to touch base with Coach Pasquale in room 418.
MADALYN: Key Club is collecting jars of peanut butter, boxed mac and cheese, and canned tuna for the TOPSS food pantry holiday food drive.

Coming up tomorrow, Diversity club will meet after school in Mrs. Schultze’s room, room 400, to discuss and prep for the Middle School Fall Festival coming up on Friday.

And, Wednesday night, the Swim and Dive team will have a preseason meeting in the cafeteria at 7 p.m.
MADALYN:
The swim and dive meeting is a great opportunity to meet the coaches and get practice and meet schedules. Expectations for what you need to be on the team will also be shared. Talk to Coach Pasquale in room 418 if you can’t make the meeting.
SIENNA:
As we get closer to Thanksgiving and begin thinking about all of the things we are thankful for, it’s important to remember those in our community who are in need.

We had two tournament games last night Girls Soccer and Volleyball

Girls soccer ended their game in an 8-0 loss against the Seton Saints

In a hard fought battle, after 5 long sets the Volleyball team ended their season with a loss against fairfield.

Congrats on a great season to all of those athletes.

Tournament play continues tonight as Boys soccer makes the trip over to Kings, the match to begin at 7.

Welcome back from the long weekend talawanda. I have a couple of updates for you guys from the weekend so let’s get right into it.

Cross country took on the SWOC championship, Girls coming in first with Lucia Rodbro, Adriana Luking, Clara Cradduck and Sadie Abbit in the top 5. Boys came second with Max Bixler, Bryson Fears, and Garrison Franks in the top five. Lucia Rodbro and Max Bixler were both named SWOC runners of the year and Coach O was awarded SWOC coach of the year.

It’s that time of year when regular seasons have come to a close and we move into tournament play.

Girls soccer will compete in their first round of tournament tonight against Seton at 7pm

Volleyball also begins tournament play tonight. They will be on the road to Lakota West to face off against Fairfield at 7pm

Last night Volleyball ended their senior night right, defeating Hamilton in 3 sets

We have another senior night tonight as boys soccer will be taking on Taylor at home, JV at 5 and Varsity at 7 so come out to support those three seniors one final time

Girls soccer will be on the road to brookville JV at 5 and Varsity at 7

And finally volleyball will be making their way over to Fairmont, the game beginning at 7.

Last night, girls soccer successfully honored their seniors for their final home match ever but unfortunately the game did end with a 2-1 loss for the brave, goal was scored by Jaklyn Wynn.

Volleyball fell to Oak Hills in 3 close sets.

But on a brighter note Boys soccer was on the road to Eaton overcoming them 1-0 goal scored by Harrison Zhang

It’s the season for senior nights, Volleyball will be at home tonight at 7pm honoring their seniors and the theme is white out.

And if you remember, a little while back, Brianna introduced the Brave Field Hockey team, they will also have their senior night tonight vs walnut hills at the miami field hockey complex beginning at 6pm

Finally, Here’s a quick announcement for baseball players–Due to weather and work on field improvements, baseball open fields and weights will not meet the rest of October. Here with a bit more on that is baseball coach and star English teacher, Mr. Lykins

We had nothing going on last night but I do want to thank Dean for covering for me while I was deathly, deathly ill.

But we do have a very exciting night here at THS.

Girls Soccer will have their final home game tonight against Eaton, which means it is senior night. The Jv game is at 5 with Senior festivities beginning at 6:30 and the game itself at 7

Volleyball will also be at home tonight facing off against Oak Hills at 7pm and it will be Teacher Appreciation Night.

The theme for both of those games is Black Out so come out to THS tonight to support the seniors and teachers.

Finally, Boys Soccer will be o the road to Eaton Jv at 5 and Varsity at 7

Here’s a Reminder to all SENIORS in NHS: there is a meeting this Wednesday, October 11th, during tutorial in Ms. Klovekorn’s room.
WILL:
If you cannot attend this meeting, please let Ms. Klovekorn know, and check google classroom to see what you missed.
DOM:
Brave day is coming up soon. And, like in previous years, the day will be split between two days.
WILL:
That’s right. This year’s Brave Day dates are Thursday, October 19th, and Friday, October 20th.
DOM:
And, Brave Day is in need of senior helpers to make the day as exciting and impactful as possible. Talk to Z in room 301 to volunteer.

Setting Stone will meet tomorrow after school. in Mr. Aerni’s room, room 320.

Setting Stone members should plan on attending to discuss merch details and theme ideas for this year’s magazine.

Cross Country had a home invitational on Saturday. Girls took first place at the meet and boys took second.

Talawanda Football fell to Harrison on Friday night, but them at 2 and 6 for the season so far. There are two games left this season, including this Friday night versus Mt. Healthy–the theme is “Pink Out.”

No games tonight, but tomorrow is gonna be exciting.

Boys Soccer made their way over to Harrison last night falling to them 6-0

Volleyball was also at harrison losing to the wildcats in 3 sets

Finally, Girls soccer took on St Ursula at home, losing to them 7-0

Happy football friday talawanda, tonight is a home game against harrison, the theme for the game is black out so show out.

On Saturday, Girls soccer will be heading to Milton Union, Jv at 2 and Varsity at 330

And Cross Country will be hosting The talawanda Invitational right here at THS, next up here is Evan Messner with a highlight video on Cross Country
