Friday, January 6th 2023

Good morning Talawanda, today is Friday , January 6th, 2023.

We are appreciative that our students don’t always remember to charge their Chromebooks, but we do need to be sure that our limited supply of loaner devices is returned each day. As a result, the THS Media Center will be trading cell phones or car keys for loaner Chromebooks this semester. Those students without a cell phone or car keys to “trade in” will be asked to phone a parent/guardian for approval.

The diversity club will begin meeting after school each Friday from 3-4 in room 221. We will meet today to talk about goals for the remainder of the year. New members are always welcome!

Any current 10th grade student interested in applying to a Butler Tech program should apply through the Butler Tech website BEFORE January 31st.  Any current 9th grade student wishing to apply to the 10th Grade Academy at DRL should apply by this date, as well.  Please visit: butlertech.org/high-school/.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Phelps or your school counselor.

Now for Zander with Moore sports.
The first athlete of the week ballot for 2023 is out, make sure to vote Boys Basketball as team of the week, Logan Smith as boys basketball player of the week, and Maren Patterson as Swimmer of the week at Cincinnati Enquirer.

No home games but a few events tonight as Boys Basketball will head to Mt. Healthy for a conference match tonight at 7:30. Swimming will meet with Hamilton and Ross at 5

Lots of action over the weekend, kicking it off with Girls Basketball on Saturday, they’ll be hosting Harrison in a SWOC match at 2:30. Also on Saturday, Wrestling will have a meet at Valley View High School, and closing it out Sunday, Swimming will be at the Bethel Invite

That’s our sports for today but our very own Anna Newlin and Hallie Schutte were dog sitting in New York City over winter break and decided to go to a taping of the Today Show. Trust me you don’t want to miss this video. See you Monday.
