We’ve got a couple of announcements regarding club meetings here at THS. Here’s what’s coming up next week:
KATE:
Setting Stone would like to thank those who came out to yesterday’s meeting.
TESSA:
But, due to the number of club meetings taking place on Thursdays, Setting Stone will move meetings to Tuesdays. If you are interested in being a part of Setting Stone, the group will meet next Tuesday, August 29th in room 320 right after school.
KATE:
Project Green Club will meet in Mrs. Ruther’s room, room 223, on Tuesdays after school.
TESSA:
The Youth Initiative Team, or YIT!, focuses on helping people see the best in themselves. The group will meet today in the Media Center during Tutorial.
KATE:
Diversity Club is hosting its first meeting of the school year next Thursday, August 31st, right after school in Mrs. Schultze’s room, room 400. Snacks will be provided.
Tessa:
Talawanda Best Buddies will host an informational meeting on Thursday, August 31st during tutorial.
Kate:
All grades are welcome to join this very informal club. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Sammons or president Brianna Johnson.
TESSA:
If you are an NHS member, Ms. Klovekorn wants you to check Google Classroom for information about running for an officer position.
KATE:
Additionally, NHS will meet on Wednesday, September 6th, to vote for officers. Reach out to Ms. Klovekorn with questions or for more information.
TESSA:
Class Officer applications are available outside of Ms. Mann’s room, room 319.
KATE:
Officers represent their respective classes here at THS and organize events like Homecoming and Prom.
TESSA:
And, while Homecoming is weeks away, it’s never too early to start planning. Pick up your officer application outside of room 319 today.
KATE:
So, Tessa–let’s talk about those songs playing during passing period.
TESSA:
Okay.
KATE:
So, what are your thoughts?
TESSA:
They’re all right–but, I wouldn’t mind more variety, you know?
KATE:
Oh, I hear ya. That’s why Mr. Davie created a form for students and staff to add song suggestions to the playlist.
TESSA:
Really?
KATE:
Yep. Just scan the QR code on the screen to access the form and add your suggestion today.
TESSA:
Nice!
KATE:
And, now, a quick video from Mrs. Patt in the media center about fine free days:

It was a pretty slow day for outside sports yesterday due to the heat. Both the girls soccer game and the tennis match last night were canceled.

But in the cool of the gym the volleyball team overcame Taylor in 3 nail-biting sets. Great work last night ladies
