Key club will be hosting a food drive for the TOPSS Food Pantry. It will be going on this week October 24-28. Please bring non-parishable items like canned food, Boxed food, and Toiletries to your fifth period classroom, the class with the most items per student at the end of the week will get doughnuts!
POWDERPUFF FOOTBALL has changed to take place on Thursday, October 27th at 7pm. Stop by Mr. Zimmmermans room to get your t-shirt if you ordered one.
Attention people signed up to perform at the November 4th Coffee House–there will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, October 31st, right after school in room 320. If you signed up to perform, you must attend this meeting. Again, anyone signed up to perform at the November 4th Coffee House must plan to attend a meeting after school on Monday, October 31st, in Mr. Aerni’s room (320).
There will be an NHS induction ceremony tonight at 7pm.
Are you interested in studying abroad or hosting an exchange student? There are many local scholarships available for those that want to be involved with the Oxford AFS chapter as well as other organizations like the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study or The National Security Language for Youth Program. Football dropped their final game of the season to Northwest on Friday by a score of 53-49, 7 total touchdowns from the boys, Cale Leitch threw for 2 of them to Hayden Marcum and rushed for one more for 3 total, Quawn Roberson rushed for 111 yards and a TD, DJ Morris-Williams had 2 on the ground, and Logan Howard returned an 86 yard kick return to the house. The team finishes the year 1-9, Cale Leitch was the passing leader hitting 1000 yards and 10 TDs, Quawn Roberson led the team with 765 rushing yards, and Hayden Marcum had 647 receiving yards with 8 TDs.
Volleyball swept Lakota East on the road Saturday to advance to the third round of the state tournament for the first time as a D-1 school. The girls will face Ursuline Academy tomorrow.
Cross Country was at the Southwest District Championship over the weekend, the girls finished 4th out of 15 schools led by Lucia Rodbro who placed 3rd overall with a time of 18:46, the girls will head to Troy for Regionals. The boys team finished 7th and did not qualify for regionals, but max Bixler did individually as he placed 18th out of 108 runners with a time of 16:56.
