Good morning Talawanda, today is Wednesday, May 11th, 2022.

ALL Seniors that haven’t picked up their Senior T-shirt needs to stop by the office to do so.

SENIORS: Want to celebrate your last Friday at Talawanda in a creative and fun way? For just $1, you can participate in Talawanda’s first anual, senior only event: “Anything But a Backpack Day!” Seniors can stop by room 316 (Mrs. Sammons’s room) anytime between now and Friday to purchase your pass to participate. ON Friday, May 13, you are invited to get creative with transporting your materials- bring a shopping bag, pet carrier, etc. All money raised will go to fund the 2022 homecoming dance. Help leave your legacy here at Talawanda and have a blast while showcasing the senior class!

FFA went to the the state convention and won lots of awards, Kaydence Morris has a report

Any boy interested in playing golf this fall, there will be a short informational meeting Tomorrow immediately after school in Coach Cawein’s room, Room 215.  The upcoming season as well as summer golf practices will be discussed.  If you can not make the meeting, please make sure to stop by and see Coach Cawein sometime this week.

The list of seniors who have been invited to the Senior Scholarship Night is now posted outside of the guidance office.   If your name is on this list you will be receiving at least one scholarship from either the Talawanda Local or Oxford Community Foundations. This will be held Wednesday, May 18th at 6 pm.  Please RSVP to Mrs Roy.

Now for whats the T followed by Luke WP with sports.

The baseball team fell to La Salle last night 6-2, the team falls to 15-7 on the year and will be back in action this evening at 5 against Lakota West, that game will be played at McKie Field at Miami University.

The lacrosse team closed out their regular season with a victory over Winton Woods, 19-1 was the final, Gunnar Von Bergen was the goal leader for the Brave in that one, the team will kick off the postseason on Saturday at noon as they head to Wilmington for a rematch with the Hurricane.

The tennis team defeated Colerain yesterday 4-1 to get back over the .500 mark, they are now 8-7 this season and will begin postseason in the coming weeks.

The track teams competed at the SWOC Championships at Mount Healthy yesterday with the girls claiming their fifth straight conference crown and the boys finishing second, there were many event wins for the Brave with some individual highlights in Henry Hoblitzell breaking the conference record in pole vault and winning field event athlete of the year, and Coach Brad Hoblitzell winning girls coach of the year, the JV SWOC meet will be on Thursday before the team competes at Districts next week. 

Home games: once again the baseball team will host Lakota West tonight at 5, that game will be played at Miami University.
