February 14th, 2022

Good morning Talawanda, today is Monday, February 14th, 2022.

This week is National FCCLA Week!  Today is member appreciation day.  Here at THS we have 201 students who are FCCLA members and have taken an FCS class this year!   We appreciate all that you do!  Thanks for all the hard work in our school and community!  Nationally there are 155,000 members with over 8,000 statewide.

In honor of FCCLA and FFA Weeks, we will be holding a food drive of non-perishable food items from today until February 26th. Drop off your items in boxes located in the front offices of all the schools. At THS we will be awarding the top 3 first period classrooms with donuts!

If you signed up to perform at the February 25th Coffee House–there will be an important meeting after school this THURSDAY–if you plan to perform at the Coffee House, you must attend this meeting. Again, anyone planning to perform at the February 25th Coffee House must attend a meeting in room 320 right after school this Thursday!

And now on this Valentines day, we tried to find a friend.

Attention Setting Stone: there will be an important meeting today, after school, in Mr. Aerni’s room. Please plan on attending.

There will be an FCA meeting this Wednesday, February 16th, at 2:20, location TBD. Anyone is welcome to attend, and we hope you consider joining our chapter to help grow our community and impact our school. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jacob Farmer, Harrison Cradduck, or Dean Cradduck.

All prospective baseball players, please come to Mr. Lykins’s room (413) at the beginning of tutorial Tuesday, February 15 for a brief meeting regarding next week’s tryouts. Those who cannot make it, please see Mr. Lykins (or check Twitter) this week for sign-up information.

Congratulations to the swim and dive team for qualifying 11 individuals to the district swim and dive meets that will take place this week at Miami.  For the boys, Julio Fuentes, Alex Carlson, Stephen Mullally, Noah Femiani, Zeke Groom, and Jonah Femiani all qualified, while for the girls Mercy Patterson, Maren Patterson, Kenna Mondello, Hannah Lippincott, and Ellie Killy all qualified.  The sectional meets this weekend were highlighted by Alex Carlson winning the 100 Backstroke and in the process breaking the school record in the event.  The school record had stood for 37 years and Alex beat it by nearly a full second.  Congratulations to Alex and all the swimmers and divers for a great weekend.
