Good morning Talawanda, today is Monday, January 10th, 2022.

Setting Stone will meet after school today. We will talk about the scheduled upcoming Coffee House, work on the magazine, and a few other things. Hope to see you then!

And now Emma gives you a quick overview on how to start the scholorship process for seniors at Talawanda

Senior superlative winners have been notified by yearbook and should start reaching out to Madison Croucher to plan their picture for the yearbook.  In other yearbook news, Senior pictures need to be turned in online by using the QR code posted around the school.  See Mr. Zimmerman in room 301 or any yearbooker with any questions.  If you do not turn in a senior picture, your Lifetouch ID photo will be used.  If you still need someone to take senior photos for you, please email yearbook@talawanda.org and we can set up FREE sittings for you!  Senior pictures are due March 23rd!

There will be an informational meeting for the drama club after school today in the PAC at 3:00

Now for Whats the T followed by sports with Luke WP.

This weekend at the Valley View Invitational, 4 Talawanda wrestlers placed and made it to the podium:  Gaven Boner placed 2nd, Sammy Dillon Placed 4th, Logan Crauder placed 3rd and Clayton Bennett placed 6th. This weekend the team will split, with half of the wrestlers traveling to Sycamore and the other half traveling to Ross.

The hockey team lost and tied on the road this weekend, first dropping a conference game with Beavercreek, then tieing with Gahanna Lincoln, the team will travel to Columbus this weekend to compete in the Olentangy Orange Pioneer Classic.

The boys basketball team dropped 2 SWOC games this weekend at home, first to Mount Healthy and then to Harrison, Jay Reynolds was the points leader across the weekend for the Brave with 29 total points, the team is now 2-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference and will continue their homestand tomorrow against Northwest.

On Friday the swim and dive teams traveled to Hamilton for a tri-meet against Hamilton and league-rival Ross.  Both the boys and girls came away with sweeps when all was said and done.  For the girls, Talawanda scored 45 points, Ross 37, and Hamilton 14 and on the boys side, Talawanda scored 53 points, Ross 41, and Hamilton 2.  A number of great performances were had Friday night despite the water at the pool being incredibly hot.  Among others Mercy Patterson and Hannah Lippincott had strong performances for the girls and for the boys Stephen Mullally and Jonah Femiani combined to go 1-2 in both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke. The swim team will continue action on Saturday at home.

Home games today: the bowling teams will host Cincinnati Christian at Oxford Lanes beginning at 4, and the girls basketball team will return from their Covid pause tonight against Taylor, JV at 6, Varsity at 7:30, we’ll also have that game live here on Channel 85 I’ll have the call tonight.
