Good Morning Talawanda. Today is Monday, January 13th, 2020

Best Buddies members: our January club meeting will be this Thursday after school in room 316. We will have wintery snacks and talk about the semester. New members are always welcome!

Talawanda’s unofficial film club is looking for new members.  Do you want to be an actor, filmmaker, or screenwriter?  If you do, then join and they’ll produce your films.  The first meeting for new members is this Saturday.  To join, contact Peter Averbach at his email or speak to him in person.

Lists are now posted outside the guidance office of those students who have qualified for the 2nd quarter honor roll recognition.  It will be Thursday, January 23.  Eleventh and twelfth grades will be 2nd period and ninth and tenth will be 3rd.

Happy belated birthday to Cameron Weitzel and happy birthday to Kaleb Horton who turns 16. Happy Birthday.

Setting Stone will meet today after school—please come to discuss magazine submissions, as well as the upcoming February Coffee House. See you this afternoon.

And now for What’s the T and Luke WP

Congrats to girls basketball head coach Mary Jo Huismann on her 700th career victory the game was a 42-31 win over Ross Kylee Fears had 14 points and they improve to 2-8 on the year and 2-4 in the conference. Their next game is tonight vs Taylor.

The boys basketball team fell to Ross by a 52 to 35 score they fall to 1-5 in the SWOC and 2-9 overall their next game is at home tomorrow vs Union County.

Friday the Brave swim teams headed to Hamilton for a tri-meet with Hamilton and Ross.  Both the girls and the boys came away with sweeps.  The girls meet was highlighted by a thrilling come from behind victory from Hannah Lippincott in the 200 Free, in which she lowered her season best time by 6 seconds.  Later on that meet Hannah also placed third in the 500 Free, where she had a career best time by 5 seconds.  The boys meet was highlighted by Rhyan Meyers and Ben Crowder both winning two events and Blake Madden, John Anzano, and Luke Liang all winning one apiece.

The hockey team defeated Beavercreek by a 5-1 score and Bowling Green by an 8-5 score they improve to 20-2-1 on the season and 6-0 in the SWOHSHL. They will head to Columbus this weekend to play in the highly competitive Pioneer Classic.

Home games for today: the girls basketball team will host Taylor JV at 6 Varsity at 7:30.
