Good Morning Talawanda. Today is Tuesday, October 8th, 2019

Spirit week is this week.  Today is ‘Down on the Farm’, Wednesday is 80s day, and Thursday is class color day with Freshmen wearing red, Sophomores in Blue, Juniors in White, and Seniors in Black.  Dress up and have a great time!

Key Club is raising money for the Thirst Project, a nonprofit organization aimed at helping provide safe drinking water in places where it’s not readily available, as well as help build wells for villagers across Africa.  We will raise this money by selling water themed pins during lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the rest of the month.  The minimum pin is only $1, but feel free to donate more!  Try to get a pin as soon as possible, as we have limited supply.

The Fall Spooktacular Blood Drive will be held October 30th all students 16 and over are able to donate blood.  With each donation three lives are saved!  Pick up forms during lunch, in the office or room 611.

Best buddies members and anyone interested in joining: Our next meeting will be Thursday, October 17 after school in Mrs. Sammons’ room. We will have SNACKS! If you missed our first meeting, please see Mrs. Sammons for information about signing up to be a member! 

Now for todays birthdays. Matthew Speakman and Clayton Detherage turn 18. Happy Birthday.

Voila is sponsoring SOCK-tober again this year!  We will take new socks of all sizes & types.  The socks will be donated to a local Hamilton charity.  Please drop them off to Room 118!!! We will collect the entire month of October.

There are a pair of keys in the office if you lost them, they have a Talawanda key chain and were found out on Stillwell Beckett. Please come get them.

Attention THS students! Once again, NOSEBLEED will be performing after Homecoming. It will be from 12-12:30 after the Homecoming dance. Come out and rock! If you want to buy merch, links are at their instagram page, @Nosebleed.OH

The girls soccer team tied Ross yesterday in a score less game they are now 4-1-4 in the SWOC and 8-3-4 overall. Their next game is today at Northwest.

The boys soccer team fell to Ross 4-3 yesterday night they play at home on senior night vs Northwest today.

The girls volleyball team fell to Winton Woods in 4 sets yesterday, they play tonight at home versus Edgewood in their volley for the cure game it is also senior night and we’ll stream it for you on YouTube I’ll have the call for you at 7.

Are you interested in swimming or diving for Talawanda this year?  If so, please make plans to attend the preseason meeting tomorrow night.  The meeting will be at 7 PM in the cafeteria.  At the meeting practice and meet schedules will be distributed.  In addition you will also be able to meet the coaches of the team and learn the expectations for being a part of the team.  If you cannot make the meeting please see Coach Pasquale in Room 418.

Home games for today: Boys soccer has their senior night JV at 5, Varsity at 7 and volleyball has their senior night and volley for the cure games vs Edgewood Freshman at 4:30, JV at 5:45 and Varsity at 7.
