Good Morning Talawanda. Today is Friday, October 4th, 2019

HOMECOMING is right around the corner! If you need assistance with homecoming attire, please see Ashley in the guidance office any Monday, Wednesday or Friday. 

Homecoming ticket sales will begin TODAY! Tickets will be $15 each. You can purchase your ticket during lunch, or stop by the main office and see Mrs. Stivers. If you are bringing a guest that is not from Talawanda, you must get a guest form and purchase your guest’s ticket from the main office.

And now for a special segment about Homecoming week next week.

Are you interested in swimming or diving for Talawanda this year?   If so, please make plans to attend the preseason meeting next Wednesday, October 9th.  The meeting will be at 7pm in the cafeteria.  At the meeting, practice and meet schedules will be distributed.  In addition you will also be able to meet the coaches of the team and learn the expectations for being a part of the team.  If you cannot make the meeting, please see Coach Pasquale in Room 418.

Spirit week is next week.  On Monday everyone will be wearing Pajamas for PJ Day, Tuesday is ‘Down on the Farm’ so wear your best country outfit or dress up like a farm animal, Wednesday is 80s day, and Thursday is class color day with Freshmen wearing red, Sophomores in Blue, Juniors in White, and Seniors in Black.  Dress up and have a great time!

The Fall Spooktacular Blood Drive will be held October 30th all students 16 and over are able to donate blood.  With each donation three lives are saved!  Pick up forms during lunch, in the office or room 611.

Setting Stone Magazine was recently awarded a silver medal from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. Come celebrate with us at the magazine’s official release party on Monday, October 7, right after school, in the space above the Media Center. The new magazine will be available to check out and/or purchase, and we will have coffee and snacks, as well. Hope to see you there!

The A Brave Cares shirts are available for $15 and are being sold during lunches or stop by room 611.  There are field hockey, soccer, volleyball and football games that are all hosting A Brave Cares games over the next 2 weeks.  All proceeds are being donated to Luna Cares.  

Happy Birthday to Austin Schomaker turns 18, Carly Hornsby turns 15, John Nelson turns 16, Jacob Mason turns 18, and McKenzie Hanson turns 15.

Any student taking the PSAT on October 16 will need to come to register with Mr. Phelps on Monday, October 7 right after school in the cafeteria.  If you have any questions, please see him in room 518.

Voila s sponsoring SOCK-tober again this year!  We will take new socks of all sizes & types.  The socks will be donated to a local Hamilton charity.  Please drop them off to Room 118!!! We will collect the entire month of October.
