Good Morning Talawanda. Today is Tuesday, April 16th, 2019

The Environment and Natural Sciences Club will meet today, right after school in Mrs. Ruther’s room. We will finish getting ready for our EarthFest booth. All are welcome!

Talent show tickets will only be on sale through Wednesday – please get your ticket at lunch or in room 611.  The cost is $5 and the proceeds are being donated.  Mr. Edwards is serving as the MC this year!  This is a great time to see all the talent that THS has to offer! This year we will be holding an evening talent show on Wednesday evening, for all the parents, teachers and students who aren’t able to attend Thursday’s show will be able to see all the talent on Wednesday evening starting at 6:30 pm. FCCLA members will be serving as MC for this event.  You will pay at the door on Wednesday evening, the cost is $5. or $3 plus 2 personal hygiene items that are being donated to a local shelter.

Summer school will run from May 28 until June 14.  Signs ups are available in the main office or online at the High School’s website.

Prom is May 4 and the Guest Request Forms are now available.  The form will be in the main office and your English teachers room.  The form is a little different this year and will need to be returned by April 30.  Any questions see Mrs. Stivers in the main office.

The Setting Stone Coffee House will be held on Friday, May 3rd. If you are interested in performing, sign up today outside of Mr. Aerni’s room (320). Last day to sign up will be tomorrow

Because of the success of the first one, a second smash tournament will be held from 2-5 after school in Mr. Z’s room on Wednesday May 1st. A single elimination bracket will be used and there will be an optional losers bracket. If you have time conflicts you will be given priority in match order. Drinks and recreational playing areas will be provided. $5 will be due upon entry, over half of the money will go to the Oxford Family Resource Center. The winner receives a cash prize. Anyone is welcome to sign up outside of Mr. Z’s room, room 301. If you have any questions see Shr-Hua Moore, Kyle Hoefker, or Mason Schwartz

The baseball team faced off against Mt. Healthy last night, they came home with the 24-0 W. They’ll play today at Middletown with first pitch at 5.

The softball team picked up their first conference win last night against Mt. Healthy. 11-3 was the score — the softball team’s overall record improves to 4-9 overall.    

The men’s JV Tennis team lost a hard fought battle to Walnut Hills by a score of 3-2. Brennan Cameron and Jotham Morris posted the wins for the JV Tennis team. 

Home games for today:  Boys Varsity Tennis hosts Little Miami at 4, JV baseball hosts Middletown at 5, Freshman baseball hosts Monroe at 5, and The Varsity Track teams have the Dale Plank Invitational tonight out at the field with the action beginning at 4:30.   

Yesterday in notable playoff games, the Leafs knocked off the Bruins 3-2 to take a 2-1 first-round series lead in the Stanley Cup Playoffs — and the Golden State Warriors gave up a huge lead to the LA Clippers who beat them 135-131 to tie the series at 1.
