Good morning, Talawanda! Today is Wednesday October 24th, 2018
Congratulations to Eleanor Prytherch, Kei Brown, and Abby Callahan for earning Gold Circle Awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association—their layouts and artwork in the Setting Stone Literary-Art Magazine earned top honors in this prestigious award. Setting Stone also was awarded a Gold Crown award for Rhonda Krebiel and Owen Berg’s “Staff Page” layout.
Jostens will be at Talawanda HS today during all lunches and after school 5-7 in the cafeteria. Turn in your senior order!
For all girls who signed up for Powderpuff football, there will be a practice session today at 7pm for Freshmen and Sophomores, and 7:30 for Juniors and Seniors. You will get your shirts during this practice, so make sure you are there! Please see Mr. Zimmerman in 301 with any questions.
Are you interested in CCP for spring semester? If so, you must apply by November 1st. See your counselor for details.
Birthdays for today: Hunter French turns 15.
And now for world news and Patty G with sports.
Well no Talawanda results to report today, but the Red Sox did knock off the LA Dodgers last night 8-4 to take a 1-0 World Series lead. Game 2 is tonight from Fenway at 8 eastern.
And also, I’m writing a new column for the Talawanda Tribune called Lessons from the Field, about my experiences in sports and TV and the things its taught me — check it out today at talawandatribune.org under the columns tab.
And that’s our broadcast on this Wednesday. I’m Patrick Geshan. Don’t forget student government officers will meet in Ms. Mann’s room after school. Thank you so much for watching — and have a great day.
