Good morning, Talawanda! Today is Thursday October 18th, 2018

Setting Stone will NOT meet on Monday, October 22.  Members should please review the new submissions that have been posted to the Classroom.

Freshmen:  Candle orders are due this FRIDAY!  All $5 candy prizes have been claimed, but the next five students to turn in their seller packets will earn a package of gummy bears!  Please continue to sell and turn in packets so your class has the necessary funds for homecoming next year!  We have a long way to go!  Prizes will be delivered on Wednesday!

Best Buddies members:  t-shirt orders are due to Mrs. Sammons by today!  Be sure to turn in order forms and your $12 as soon as possible.  If money is an issue, let Mrs. Sammons know!

Art club is welcoming all students who like to paint, draw, write, or create in general, regardless of skill level, to room 603 right after school on thursdays.  Hope to see you there!  All questions can be directed to Mr. Hunsche or senior Haden Bittinger.

And now for Mix It Up Day

JACK:  Hey Johnathan, what is the name of the scale we use to measure Earthquakes

JOHNATHAN:  Uhh, the Earthquake Scale, oh wait the Rich-ter scale.

JACK:  Actually, it is pronounced Rick-ter scale, like your last name.  If you were smarter than Jonathan, you might want to join Academic Team.  The first meeting is Tuesday, October 23rd after school in room 424.  Any questions go to Mr. Schmid.

Also happy belated birthday to Mathew Speakman.

And now for Patty G with sports.

The girls volleyball team fell to Colerain in their first round playoff matchup last night in three close sets. The Braves finish the season with a 7-15 overall record and a 5-7 SWOC record, so congratulations to the volleyball team on a great season.

Tonight is the night for the boys soccer team, who plays at home in the playoffs against Oak Hills.  The Braves are looking to make it past the second round for the first time in program history after they earned a first round bye.  The game is tonight at the field at 7 and will be live streamed on Brave TV. Luke West Poley and I will have the call at 7 but we will be on the air at 6:45 with special pre game coverage. Remember — all sports passes from Talawanda will not work at the gate tonight, it is $6 for all students and adults.

And that’s our broadcast on this Thursday.  I’m Patrick Geshan. Thank you so much for watching — and have a great day.
