Good morning, Talawanda! Today is Wednesday October 17th, 2018

Freshmen:  Candle orders are due this FRIDAY!  All $5 candy prizes have been claimed, but the next five students to turn in their seller packets will earn a package of gummy bears!  Please continue to sell and turn in packets so your class has the necessary funds for homecoming next year!  We have a long way to go!  Prizes will be delivered on Wednesday!

Attention YITs, please meet in the Teachers Lunchroom after school today for our meeting.  New members are always welcome!

Members of Girls Who Code, our next meeting will be today, right after school in room 220.  The meeting will last until 2:45 and there will be snacks!

Best Buddies members:  t-shirt orders are due to Mrs. Sammons by this THURSDAY!  Be sure to turn in order forms and your $12 as soon as possible.  If money is an issue, let Mrs. Sammons know!

And now for dumb conspiracies.

LUKE:  Hey Grady, what is the capital of Canada?

GRADY:  That one’s easy it’s the C.  Capital C-a-n-a-d-a

LUKE:  If you’re smarter than Grady and knew it was Ottawa, you might join the academic team.  The first meeting is next Tuesday after school in room 424.  See Mr. Schmid for details.

And now for world news and Patty G with sports.

Well two things, I haven’t gotten the epidemic yet and Good job Luke even though I had to remind you the capital isn’t Toronto. Well the girls soccer team had no trouble at all getting past the first round of the playoffs with a 5-0 victory over Princeton at home last night.  Ainsley Clark had a hat-trick in the game with Jenna Jarvis and Sophie Pohlable adding tallies. The girls next postseason game will be against the Mason Comets in Mason on Saturday at 7.

There are no other Talawanda results to report from last night, but we wish our good luck to the volleyball team who plays in THEIR first round playoff matchup tonight at Colerain.  The Braves have not faced the Cardinals yet this year. Last season, Talawanda  lost in straight sets in the first round of the playoffs to Lakota East. Their match tonight begins at 6.

And the past few weeks I’ve been forgetting to do something but I finally remembered today. So Matthew from Best Buddies, I remembered today to say your name on the news — hope all is well my friend and thanks for watching.

And that’s our broadcast on this Wednesday.  I’m Patrick Geshan. Thank you so much for watching — and have a great day.
