Good morning, Talawanda! Today is Thursday October 11th, 2018

Attention NHS members:  we will have our first meeting of our full membership on Monday, October 15 after school upper media center.  See you there!

Art club is welcoming all students who like to paint, draw, write, or create in general, regardless of skill level, to room 603, right after school on thursdays.  Hope to see you all there!

Freshmen:  Continue to sell candles to relatives, friends, and teachers.  The next 3 students to turn in order forms will receive a goody bag of $5 worth of candy!  Our sale ends October 15th, so start bringing in those orders!

Model UN members, the next meeting will be Friday, October 19th right after school in Mrs. Lefevers room. Please check your school emails for a message from club president Jenny Lee and vice president Benjamin Farmer in regards to forms and deposits.  If you cannot attend this meeting please inform them as soon as possible.

Purdue University is offering a program called Seniors Exploring Engineering on Monday, October 15th.  The program is geared towards young women in their senior year who are trying to determine if engineering at Purdue University is a good fit for them.  If you want to register, sign up early at www.purdue.edu/WIEP

And now for world news and Patty G with sports.

The field hockey team fell 9-0 in their senior night game against Fairmont at the field yesterday. It ends the regular season for the Braves who are off to the playoffs now, so we wish them good luck. 

Home games for today: 2 Senior nights are on tap in both Girls Soccer and Girls Volleyball. Girls Soccer hosts Ross with the Varsity kick at 7, and Volleyball has the Rams as well. Freshman at 4:30, JV at 5:45, and Varsity at 7.  So be at the games tonight!

And since tomorrow is Friday, we’ll get you ready for tomorrow’s football senior night against Edgewood. The Cougars have a 5-2 overall record and are 2-1 in the SWOC. Edgewood is coming off a 21-7 loss at Winton Woods last week. They’ve lost 2 straight games, including a 10-6 loss at Ross in week 6. Senior introductions from all the sports teams will start at 6:30 tomorrow night with the kick at 7 for the final home game of the year. It will be a pink out for breast cancer awareness.
