Good morning, Talawanda! Today is Monday, August 20, 2018

Do you enjoy helping in the community?  Or are you looking for a way to become more involved?  Or even just looking for service hours?  If so, join the Talawanda Key Club.  We do many service projects throughout the year and will be holding our first meeting on Monday, August 27th right after school in Mr. Ruther’s room, 423.  Come and learn about the club and meet the officers.

There will be an FFA meeting this Wednesday from 1:45 – 2:30 in the PAC.  All FFA members are welcome to attend.  There will be pizza afterwards.  Go aggies!

Birthdays for today: Livi Mullenix and Ben Marks turn 17.

Now it’s time for world news and Patty G with sports.

Long time no see everyone. Well the football team ended their preseason Friday with a home scrimmage against Roger Bacon. At the end of Varsity time, the Braves held the #6 ranked team in the Cincinnati area to just 17 points while scoring 14 of their own. When the younger players came in towards the 4th quarter, the Braves outscored Roger Bacon 15-14. The regular season begins this Friday with a trip to Preble Shawnee.

The Volleyball team fell in their first game of the season against Milford in straight sets Saturday, 25-11, 25-7, and 25-17. Their next match is Wednesday at Taylor.

In their quest for a conference three-peat, the boys soccer team massively shutout Badin at home in their first game of the season Saturday by a 5-0 margin. They play next Tuesday at home vs. Colerain.

Home games for today: Girls Golf takes on Little Miami at 4 at the Oxford Country Club and Girls JV Tennis hosts Preble Shawnee at 4:30.

And that’s our broadcast on this Monday. I’m Patrick Geshan. Hope everyone had a great summer, and we’ll see you tomorrow.
