There’s an opportunity for a 3-day trip to Columbus for those who have interests in current world affairs, by participating in a simulation of the United Nations, through joining Model UN. There will be an informational meeting this Friday in Mrs. Mahaney’s room 120. Sign-ups for each country are posted outside the door, 5-10 people per team.
Anyone seeking a fun way to serve the community, Bogan Elementary Carnival is seeking volunteers this Saturday, September 30, from 5:00-8:00 pm. Please see Ms. Alfonsi in room 315 if you are interested.
For any hockey players, there will be an informational meeting next Thursday, October 5 at 2:45 pm in room 124. Players will receive schedule information and other administrative items, so please attend!
Also for Talawanda wrestlers, preseason conditioning and agility will be starting on Tuesday, October 10, and continue on Thursday and Friday. Be sure to attend mandatory practice on November 10, and the first competition will be on December 2.

Next week is Spirit Week at Talawanda, and that means all the classes will be competing against each other for one whole week with the winner announced at the PEP Rally on Friday. Seniors have never lost this competition, and Vegas oddsmakers are reporting that this is the year the JUNIORS pull off the upset. In addition to a Penny War benefitting the Oxford Family Resource Center, each class will go head to head in the dress up days for the week. Monday is Tie Dye Day, Tuesday Twin Day, Wednesday is Costume Day, Thursday is Jersey Day, and Friday is class color day. Freshman will wear RED, Sophomores will wear BLUE, Juniors will wear WHITE, and Seniors will wear BLACK.
The Talawanda varsity boys golf team concluded its regular season matches on Thursday, defeating Middletown Christian by a score of 177 to 199, and finishing the season with a 14 and 4 record. IN his final home match, senior Vincent Whitehead was medalist with a score of 37. The golf team will take part in the Best of the West tournament at Miami Whitewater Saturday to tune up for sectionals that will be held there next week.
Girls golf fell in their final match yesterday to Little Miami 205 to 249. It ends the girls first season with a 1-7 conference record and a 3-9 overall record. Despite the record sheet, it was still a victorious first year for the girls.
The volleyball team beat 2nd place Harrison last night in straight sets to win the annual Volley for the Cure game. They are now 3-5 in the conference. Next up for the lady braves is a home matchup on Saturday at noon.
And the girls’ soccer team also won last night with an 8-1 rout at Winton Woods. The girls are now one game below .500 around 6 and 7. Next up for the Braves is a home matchup vs. Hamilton at 5. The game will be live streamed by Brave TV on the Cube. The link will be tweeted tomorrow on our Twitter account @brave_Streaming.
And in Friday night football action tonight, Talawanda will travel to Harrison for their second conference game of the year. The Wildcats are coming off a 28-17 loss at Edgewood last year. It’s an American out tonight with kickoff at 7.
